Title: New Heart of the Swarm Multiplayer Units

What do you think?  I like what I'm reading so far, except that I wish that the carrier would remain and just be "upgraded" to hold the changes that the new Tempest would bring.

/me 's opinion
1. Put Carrier back!
2. Mothership as well
3. Why can't they add Dark Archon instead of Oracle
4. Viper's abduct sounds interesting
5. So finally zerg gets siege tank stuff in mid-game? :D
6. w00t Hellion transforms!
7. I want more thors
8. w00t baneling moving while burrowing
9. Hooray for battlecruiser speed boost skill!

I thought thors were already powerful enough like they are? O.O I just played a 3v3 earlier and someone went mass thors. The only way I could ever defeat them was mass lings and banes. Mutas, roaches and hydras seems to get obliterated fast. I didn't try infestors, though. However I think the thor was already too slow to begin with.

Also the carrier kinda became useless in SC2, so it's good that they upgrade it to something better, but I wish it remained as a carrier, since it's a big part of SC history. I'M happy abotu the hydra change, since they were so slow.

Hmm now that I look again at it, they sayt eh helion transforms like the viking. Does it means it becomes an air unit? Because if that's the case, I hope the upgrade is not too early in the game, otherwise defending helion harrass as zerg will be next to impossible.

Yeah. I also hope the new detector for Zerg won't cost insane amounts of gas, else it will make it even harder to get quick detection when we didn't spot the dark shrine. Scouting as zerg is hard sometimes because everyone walls in and won't let overlords in. Often you don't have time to get an evo then a spore crawler, not to mention spore crawlers aren't as mobile.

It means it the hellion transforms into something different.

The viking transforms between air and ground, so it's either one or the other.  But it doesn't cost the viking anything once the upgrade is researched.  So the hellion is either fast or slow/heavy, but it's not both at once.

And I also like the new hydra-speed thing :)

against mass thors, you want to get mass roaches (upgraded of course) and then when they start massing tanks to get rid of your roaches, you get mutas/brood lords.

Once I had mass roach (about 40) at level 2 and he had about 6 lv0 thors and the roaches were wiped out in 3 seconds. They were even burrowed before attacking, so I can surround my opponent.

Yeah mass thor with upgrades is very very hard to beat x.x With protoss you can go collosus, but I'm not sure how Zerg would respond.

Yeah he was level 2 thor and I had lv 3 roach. He probably used his cannon ability though. As for infestors Idk I always found them hard to use because it requires so much micro to not lose them and often my fungal growth ends up missing lots of units.

There is also a custom map floating around that replicates the new units of HOTS so you can try them out :D I am very much liking the new Protoss units, especially the tempest when it comes to going against mass Zerg Air

Yeah I saw that. It's a bit different I'm sure, though, since it was most likely made by a third-party. I like burrowed banelings moving.

I started hating carriers in SC2 personally though, even if I'll still miss them in some ways, because when people went mass carrier it caused some ppl with older computers to lag the game like crazy. :/

I wish they put the carriers back in LotV (I don't think carriers will end up being in HotS) with same power as SC1 :P
