However, I do play battlefield 2 very frequently and counter strike: source now as well. My xfire nick is spengo as always. :D Also, I have recently started playing http://survival.jwjkp.com/conflict/index.php by that JavaMan guy who comes to our irc channel sometimes. It's kinda like ogame in the gameplay but much much simpler. Very addictive once you get into the high levels though. :D I'm asdf and currently rank second in the whole game. \o/

Cs:s is alright, I prefer bf2 though. :D The cracked copies of AoE2 are kinda big o.o
I don't have anywhere to upload and I don't think the torrents are active anymore either, especially since the tracker I used to get them (lokitorrent) got eaten by the feds. <_<
So, unless you feel like using irc or aim or something to transfer files, I can't give stuff to you. :oEDIT: @ javaman: read up! I mentioned it before :)

the maps are loaded in about 10secs, at least over here...
My comp is Athlon64 2800+ with 1GB RAM and 128MB Radeon 9800, not that different... I'd recommend getting more RAM though ^_^
what's your internet connection?

I see the problem: as kalan_vod mentionned the servers are in asia, and I live in north america, so thats why its so slow. Since you are in europe that must be why you ahve a speed difference

I got 2Mbps, I like it :)
But the US and Canada have their own Rakion servers... so that shouldn't be the problem
Rakion gets updated very often compared to Gunbound, so maybe that's why your startup takes that long. When Rakion needs an update, it takes about 2-5min. to get it with my connection

Seemed okay, but people tended to take incredibly unrealistic amounts of damage without any effects. Although, the characters in this game can run up walls too so maybe they are just that tough. :P I prefer my shooters to be either incredibly mindless blow-up-anything-that-moves or incredibly realistic oh-shitz-I-died-again games. XD

Also, no little bloody giblets. 2k4 tried to be more realistic by having limbs ripped off and the like. I preferred the little ground beef packages that bounce around when you hit someone with an instagib rifle. :D
Much more entertaining--Instagib just isn't instagib without the giblets.Oh and one final thing. 2k4 is F@#$ING HUGE!!! There is no reason for that game's base install to be 7GB. :P
With mods and extra maps, it quickly becomes more than 10GB. Battlefield 2 is 3GB with all the expansions installed.[/rant]
