The other day there was a thread concerning professionalism in calculator game programming.
Now, here's my thread of professional calculator game playing.
Could there be anyone who is addicted and does preparation and thinks about Calculator Gaming like this guys?
In games like CubeRunner I am very addicted and bet with my friends I beat their records or they beat mines.
However, I only play it in classes, no home gaming. Also, I have never tried speedrunning or stuff.

Would that include walkthroughs and strategy guides? I also remember a year ago {AP} wanted to start a series of calc games reviews on Youtube, where he would have a video of a game and he would comment, kinda like those reviews you see on Youtube.

im writing TVF walkthrough, but my brother had to reset my calc and my chapter 4 file gone! :crazy:

That sucks :/ you could maybe use some sort of password protection, but even then he could pull a battery on the password screen. X.x Does TVF require to be in RAM, btw, to save?

The most professional gaming I have done is explore the start of Rune Factory 1 (NDS) which such a frenzy that I am very close to the humanly possible best start without cheating. Playing it on emulator is better because you don't need to redo many parts.
I have restarted it 2 times but I need a 3rd to optimize some decisions and schedules. And sometimes I forgot to use some tricks like a spell that takes directly home instead of running and at some distances ehen the shortest action is obvious.
I have written all the details about this but never polished and retested for releasing. If someone likes Rune Factory I can post in Omnimaga.
I have done the same for Rune Factory 2 and is already an excellent start.
Now that Rune Factory 3 is out, I might try but some game mechanics changes will hinder the start, might be more challenging to me. And I am also waiting for a request guide that will give me hints about what is best to do first. In Rune Factory 2 I picked as first requests the ones who gave more money for buying seeds.
I have also experimented some TAS in Megaman Zero, it gives impressive movies of reflexes and blink of an eye moves during battles. If you TAS, Megaman Zero is almost a must in my opinion.

Note that this thread is about calculator games, though, not console/handheld ones. :P
Btw it's possible to TAS a calculator game but it can be hard with no convenient savestates.

I don't know, but that emulator is sh*t. In fact, it's not even close to an emulator. I don't know if any ASM program even work on it. It's by TI, after all. :P
The best emulator is WabbitEmu. It has save states but no keyboard shortcut with quick-save, only slow mode or fast forward.

My guess is that it's more like the 84+ for Nspire - it can run Asm, but it doesn't support undocumented instructions, extra RAM pages and the emulation of things such as USB and linking is terrible.

Apparently it's even worse. Plus it's not even free anyway.
