In your opinion, what is the most satisfying way of winning a game? Out of a couple options, would you prefer to : get a high score, beat lots of levels, beat another player / AI character, or just have a blast playing the game even if you lose?
-
I'm more of a beat another character person, I like boss battles. You should make this into a poll.

What is your favorite method of winning a game?
-
Done.
-
Topics merged. :)
-
So that's why it said I was selecting an invalid topic number when I was trying to merge them. :P
-
I'm definitely more of a level person. :)
-
beating a friend. Most games I like involve the AIs being too easy, so I play with friends. ;)
FPSs for example.
-
I think this should be in general gaming.
and i like either beating npcs or levels, because depends on the game.
-
Moved.
although it might not belong here if this is for a calc game...
-
Highscore, since i'm definitely from the arcade school =]
-
Why, oh why, did we have to make this thread.
-
/me lost

Who edited this in? :P
Having a blast playing the game even if you lose
-
That was actually there originally, lol. I didn't really expect people to take it seriously. Obviously no one around here likes to lose :)
-
Lol I love how no one likes to win by just having a fun time playing a game lol.
-
oh.
/me fails in paying attention

Whichever is the most epic.
If it's some crazy, fast-paced level with bullets and the like flying everywhere with constant split-second decisions or a really complicated puzzle, then it would be the level.
But if there's some really dynamic boss battle or something, ie not something like Giant Enemy Crab, and it's actually fun to play against while difficult at the same time, it would be that.
-
For me, playing is just fun. Then beating the game for added difficulty. Or pwning a friend, depending of the game. Which I lost.
-
I liek scoars :D
-
When It's a great game, then just playing it is a blast. I haven't won a single planet on Super Stardust HD, but I still love that game.
-
I like climbing up leaderboards despite skill level :P

You pretty much just described Touhou... :D
I'd probably have to go with having a blast playing.

Some games are like that. And then there are games that seem to have to replay value at all -- no high scores, easy levels, one mode -- but they're just so fun to play.
-
Either High score or beating a friend, depends on a game. Those kinda flame my competitiveness :)
-
oh, and for single player games, I like getting a highscore, thus beating my friends.
-
I voted. ;D
Having a blast playing the game even if you lose
Srysly tho...What's the point of playing a game if you aren't having fun? I think Super Smash bros. is a great example of a game I love playing, regardless of wether or not I'm winning. ^^ Oh, and Goldeneye too!
-
I like improving my characters and seeing them become more and more powerful in RPGs, but that's not in the options and I only like old RPGs, not MMORPGs, so that no longer applies as much.
I like beating other people too, like at Starcraft.

Can I say "all of the above"?
