Wow that Doom port seems pretty cool. ALso the colors reminds me of PRIZM 3 bit colors :P

I'M really shocked that the Z80 in the ZX Spectrum can support such complex music, yet on the Z80 TI-84+Silver all we get is beeps ???

Well, you have to remember, the spectrum does actually have hardware for sound, where as the TI-84 doesn't.

Philips videopac+ 7400 with manuals and catalog. (aka magnavox odyssey2)
€17,50

Now all I need is a game to test it. I fired it up without a game in it and I just got a garbled screen, but it shows a picture in color. Peeked inside trough the air vent and everything appears to be ok.  I will probably make an adapter to be able to plug in my atari joystick :P

Yeah, i recall playing  ZX Spectrum games with my girlfriend at the time. BTW, if you really want to play those games nowadays, you still can.
Here you can find some ZX Sinclair Spectrum emulators: executables for several machines: windows/ubuntu/etc and more executables + emulator source code.

In general, things did improve quite a bit l, i mean: +speed +video/sound quality -price, BUT the rationale behind the games didn't change that much. Well, navigating back into the past can also bring nice memories and food for thought too. :)

Doing Maths and dancing at the same time could make the exercises a bit harder to solve. :D

Yep. The power switch is a disaster though. It's designed very poorly and it hasn't aged very well. Have a look at my atari2600. That thing is built like a tank and it has a powerswitch that is an actual switch.

Wow that is great Keoni29!

Btw guys don't you hate the SNES power switch lol? (At least on the NTSC US/CAN console) When you turn it ON/OFF it does one heck of a huge CLICK sound, so as soon as you used it everyone in the house knew when you were playing the SNES or stopping doing so. :P

As for game pickups, this is what I got today in Quebec City:

However, this isn't all: Look at what I found in the NHL 94 manual!

That is the receipt from the original purchase at Consumers Distributing that the original buyer left in the instruction booklet. Consumers Distributing went under in 1996. Thankfully it didn't cost $68.88 again lol, but rather $4.99. I actually expected more than the average sports game, because this version of EA's Sports NHL hockey is particularly popular in Quebec compared to every other and although it's not too hard to find here, on the Internet it is near impossible to run into a copy.

That epic typo I lol'd (considering how it was expensive at the time) :D (translator's note: tuer means to kill)

Well, seems you have a real collector's item: an original receipt from 1993.

Remember the day the walrus started to fly...

Indeed, quite a fail there :P

And yeah although I doubt such receipt might have any value considering they can easily be reproduced :P

But everyone throws them away, so it might be a collectors item.

Indeed. But of course it would require demand if someone wanted to sell them or something :P

That said this is a bit why I kept my last few Zellers store bags. At the time they were supposed to go away but now they're leaving 3 stores open out of the 180+. If they change names or brand maybe the old bags will become vintage :P

Also Actraiser 2 finally arrived! That game is fucking hard though, even in Easy mode! O.O

Also Stunt Race FX is really cool for SNES standards. The only issue is that the car is kinda big so you can't seem much stuff ahead and since the framerate is kinda low it can be hard to control sometimes.

I just bought an atari2600 jr online for €10, so I can play atari while my original atari is waiting for its video upgrade to arrive in the mail (at least the components I need for it) I also just went ahead and bought castlevania for the NES, because I don't own a lot of NES games and I just want a few more classics. I already got mario and probotector (contra), but other than that I do not own any good games for the system.

Where the hell did you get an Atari for that cheap? :O On Ebay.ca, no Atari 2600/jr go for lower than $100 including shipping unless they're broken.
