Title: [83+/84+] Mario Deathmatch
Post by: Krid on September 22, 2006, 04:05:00 am
Has anyone managed to get http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/183/18337.html working on a 83+ or 84+?

Ion and CrunchyOS don't seem to recognize the game. I am able to run it on an emulated Ti-83 but not on a 83+ or 84+ :(sad.gif Is there hope? Because this game looks like a cool multiplayer game.

well that link is for an 83 asm game...so unless you have a link to the 83+ version it wont work on those calcs. However since the source is included one could always port it, if only we had the extras.inc file I would port it for you.

edit I lied...here I ported it for you, I cant say it works or not because I dont have two 83+ calcs.

edit again: I updated the rar file, the level editor is now added. Enjoy and tell me how it works I am off to my job. I'll try everything out later tonight! :thumbup:google.gif

Thanks a lot!
I knew it was a file for Ti83's, however I had the impression most of those games would be compatible with the 83+. I will try it out now :)smile.gif

Update: Strange, linking a 83+ and a 84+ together, the keys on the 83+ won't respond correctly. I can only get into the actual game if the 84+ is the first one looking for a connection, but the game is unplayable (or starteable, for that matter) on the 83+. I will try it between 2 84+'s when I get a chance to. Thanks for the effort :)smile.gif

well if I could get my ti-83+ to detect it being hooked up I would send it to my calc to try it out.

Let me see what I can do....and tell me if you can get it to work between 2 84+s!

edit:
Ok I got virtual linking to work in PTI...and I got the game to run. There seems to be some obvious issues though with the link play. Here is a screenshot of what I encountered.

yes it is an MLCshell in that app...and for a second there when the screenshot seems to stop on it, you think I am gonna select it...but I dont! :)smile.gif

Once I can get some time to work on my projects I will updated the MLC thread as well as this one once I can narrow down the bugs.

The game seems to work between 84+'s. (I tested it between a 84+ and 84+SE). However, it's quite unstable, in the sense that after a round it's hard to get synched again (needed for the game to start, and a failure results in a RAM clear most of the time).

Say, could anyone (Madskillz?) port the level editor to .8xp? The source is in the same archive as the game is.

it would be cool, I wonder how game could be set to run at same speed on 83+ and SEs?
