Disable Press-To-Test

Hello!

Is there any possibility to disable this Press-To-Test Mode during class?

So without any computer or another calculator?

I have the TI nSpire CAS...

Any helpful answer would be great!

Once PTT is properly enabled there is no way to exit it without another nspire or computer right now.
You could make your calc seem to be in press to test, as in faking the led and several other signs on the display,
depends on what you want exactly...

I dont mean to be unhelpful but this is one of the things that makes teachers and TI want to lock down the calcs. The disabling of Press to Test allows for cheating on almost every standardized test. In the future I'd advise not to ask how to disable it in class and more of the is it possible if you accidently enabled it and dont have access to a computer or another calc to use if its possible to get out

Remember that not only teachers can enable PPT.  There are only 3 people in my school with any type of nspire.  Imagine how annoying it is to be PPT'd and not be able to get it undone.

yes that would be the situation id see it as being useful in. I had just seen the question as asking how to get out of it after a teacher enabled it

I'd think thered be a way to make it look like its running PTT i know there used to be a ndless program to do that. not sure if it would work with lua. you might have to wait for the release of ndless 3.x

Then someone should figure out how to disable it over USB with another computer. You can't exactly smuggle a laptop into a test, so it wouldn't allow people to cheat.

Its a mode on the nspire to disable functions that can be too powerful to use on tests

It also disables the ability to use programs

Looking for a way to disable Press To Test is not a good idea.
Why do you think TI wants to block Ndless ? Because we could disable Press To Test and Nspires would no longer be allowed in tests so less people would buy Nspires.
And when less people have Nspires, less people code for Nspire.

This means that if your question already had an answer before, we wouldn't have gbc4nspire at the moment :) (this is only an example, I could have said NESpire or nDoom, etc)
