Hiya all. I need help! I want to upload a program from my Ti-84+SE calculator to my Mac 10.6.8 computer but I don't know what to do! Can somebody help me?
I have a cable/cord to plug my calc in but I don't know what to do. The TI-Connect doesn't work on macs.
Somebody told me TiLP works, and I downloaded that but I don't know what to do with it. I don't have a clue how to install all the stuff to make it work. . .
Help please? ???

TI-Connect does work on Mac :) http://education.ti.com/en/us/software/details/en/D7445DBBA5124FA9B4F3F1B222A8005A/swticonnectsoftwareformacintosh
Then I think you know what to do with it.

Thank you!!! It really did work :w00t:
Now I just have to figure out how to get these TI programs saved as .8xp
Or, what's the most conventional file type for submitting a program? Is it .8xp?
-
.8xp is the most conventional type, yes.
-
How do I save it as .8xp?
-
I don't know, that is the format it is in automatically on Windows, maybe Matrefeytontias knows?
-
On mine it says the file type is "TI program" ...
-
Oh, check the properties of it to see what its extension is. .txt files are "Text Document" and likewise, .8xp files are "TI Program"
-
Um, I clicked "more info" and then under "name & extension:" it says "MIND15.TIProgram"
-
I am not sure if there will be a problem with it. I don't think Source Coder will be able to open it. If it could, I would say you could open it with Source Coder and then resave it as .8xp. I don't know if simply changing the extension will work.
-
What's Source Coder?
-
All this is really exposing my blatant computer incompetence isn't it. . .
-
SourceCoder (http://www.cemetech.net/projects/basicelite/sourcecoder2.php) lets you edit programs and whatnot on the computer and then save them as .8xp files, among other things. You don't need to download anything to use it.
Also, we encourage editing posts as opposed to double posting (unless of course it has been a while since the last post).
-
I got it to work!!! It was because I had saved it as a generic Ti program instead of a TI-83 program. THANK YOU!!! And, I'll never double post again, sorry about that.
-
It is fine :P Also, be careful as a TI-83 Program is a little different from a TI-83 Plus program. The former is stored as .83p and the latter as .8xp. If it was programmed on a TI-83, then you want .83p and if it was programmed on a TI-83+ or 84+, you will want it saved as .8xp.

By the way, avoid grouping your files on Mac. TI-Connect produces 8xo files instead of 8xg and I think only TiLP and SourceCoder can open them on Windows (unless 8xo support hasn't been implemented yet). Not sure if TI-Connect 4.0 fixes that issue.
