-
Don't think you can distribute it legally...sorry :P
-
I'm pretty sure you can. Here's a link to TI Planet's list of OS's. http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_list.php?id=OS+Nspire (http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_list.php?id=OS+Nspire) Just find OS 3.1 and you're good.
Have fun with your GBC!
-
Derp on my part then, have fun with it :)
-
the file i downloaded from the other guy's link for the os doesn't show up when i go to update os in the folder.
-
i lied, picked the wrong calculator file
-
k then, have fun with it :)
-
When I do all of this it says it has finished installing the OS but when it starts up my version is still 3.2! D: help please I'm brand new to this calculator. I've had it a day and accidently updated it.
-
Then you accidentally installed 3.2 again <_<

A rather cynic answer to somebody who's doing his best.

Maybe I like stairs now. ;)

Well if I am installing 3.2 again the website has the file labeled as 3.1. Because I definitely downloaded the file labeled 3.1 and installed it. I'm so lost and confused. The same happened when I tried to install 3.0 rather than 3.1. So I am thoroughly confused.
-
Given that TI-Planet links to an OS hosted on TI website, it could be very possible that TI updated OS 3.1 links with 3.2 OSes or accidentally swapped them.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I didn't want to start a new topic when it's already been done.
I have a TI-Nspire CX CAS with OS 3.2, looking to downgrade it to 3.1
This may seem like a silly question, but how exactly do you wipe the OS completely?
Followed the first two steps and nothing happened. I already have the 3.1 file on my computer, I just need to know how to put it on my calculator to install it.
-
I think you need to start holding the 3 keys down before pressing the Reset button and must not release them until the maintenance menu appears.
-
As DJ said, you have to press the keys before resetting and hold them until the maintenance menu appears. It should appear when the progress bar is a bit more than half full.
-
Wat, I never had to wipe the OS to downgrade :P

I think you need to start holding the 3 keys down before pressing the Reset button and must not release them until the maintenance menu appears.
Oh wow, I probably should have realized that...
Thanks a bunch! I now have 3.1 installed :D

I'm going to start of by saying I'm a idiot and I don't know what I'm doing. So I just pulled my TI-nspire CX CAS out of the box and I have looked up everything. I have the TI planet guide to ndless and the GBA emulator but not for the life of me can I find out how to find out my current OS or delete it to download 3.1. I have pressed and held down [doc(down arrow)][EE][enter] but I dont get anything. Is there a doc button that I'm missing because you all just put[doc] but I cant see one without the arrow. Thank you for any help.
-
You're pressing the correct [doc] button.
You need to start holding the 3 keys down before pressing the Reset button and must not release them until the maintenance menu appears.
Did you do it exactly like that?
If you're doing it correctly you should see the booting progress bar on the screen while you are holding down the 3 keys.
Edit: You can find out the current OS version by choosing "5 Settings" from the start screen and in the menu that comes up "4: Status".

lkj thank you for your help but literally 1 minute after I was playing around trying to figure it out and I found what you edited your post with. Factory settings has the calculator start with 3.1.blah blah so I already had the right OS. Then I went ahead and installed everything and now I am playing zelda. Thank you for your help anyway.
-
Make it clear for everyone : You don't need to remove the OS in order to downgrade from 3.2 to 3.1 It makes much more useless steps for beginners.
Just download OS 3.1 from the list here for your calculator (pay attention to the Nspire type - Clickpad, TouchPad, CX, non CAS, CAS, CM, etc ..) :
https://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_list.php?id=OS+Nspire
Open TI-Nspire Computer [Link/Student/Teacher/Navigator] Software or TiLP and send the OS as if is was a basic .tns file.
The software will recongnize it as an OS and install it automatically.

Please try to stay relevant. This is useful information if you're trying to go from 3.6 to 3.2, not from 3.2 to 3.1. Wrong versions.
