Title: Kirk Meyer's Graph3--Easter Eggs
Post by: Hot_Dog on February 04, 2010, 05:56:52 pm
So, on Detached Solutions's 3D graphing program for Ti-83+, I found the easter egg where Kirk's name is displayed.  How do you get the platypus?  And are there any other easter eggs?

I never used Graph3 unfortunately :(, so I couldn't tell. I remember some Detacheds' APPs like MirageOs 1.0 had some easter eggs, though, most notoriously the "Save The Whales" function.

Greg Dietsche's SuperStart also has an easter egg: the icons of the "About" swap their position on the screen if 'G' is pressed (IIRC).

I didn't know the Graph^3D easter eggs.

How do you get it?

If you're in the 3d graphing mode (like I said, for the ti-83+ application) and type in KIRK for Y1, Kirk's name will be displayed.  I don't know the one for the platypus.

I think the easter egg for the platypus is typing in "SAVE THE PLATYPI" into the Z= area.

I think you have to press ZOOM twice while viewing a graph

That did it!  I'd been searching for that for a long time

Or at least kind of easter egg...I've always enjoyed seeing those little surprises, even though many were almost out-of-context  ;D

Why not start a thread containing all known calc easter eggs?
*Silver Shadow goes off to do it.*

Cool, I think it is good idea. Easter eggs, side maps/quests and cheats for games.
Also make the topic divided into 2/3 parts:
- Easter Eggs
- Funny Bugs (Omnicalc has some I think)
- Stuff for games: Cheats, abusive tips, bugs, Extras and Side quests

DJ Omnimaga games' have lots of extras. You should add spoilers when comes to games cheats and extras.

Here is one easter egg:
in MirageOS activate the option "Save the Whales" and create these three folders: "Save", "the" and "Whales".
Now go to Catalog ( [2nd]+[0] ) and see.

Actually we already have a cheats one I think in the hidden staff forum.

Actually my game secrets/extras aren't really easter eggs. They're more secrets and side quests in the same style as console games. They have some not-so-known glitches, though, and some games are extremly broken (if you saw my TAS of Illusiat 3). I have a topic in the staff forum that actually has a lot of glitches/secrets for many community games. This will probably have its own sub-forum eventually, altough only avaliable to registered members

I thought about putting an easter egg in Chip's Challenge but I never got around to it.

That would be funny, especially for a "featured" program! ;D
