Manual Ndless Install

Hello,
I can't let the Ndless installer past my firewall.  How can I install it manually?

Can you use Nspire8x?

Other than that, I don't think you can install it manually (you might want to try to contact ExtendeD about it, as he might be able to revel how).

Also, you could use Ndless 1.7, which only requires the computer link software.

Is 1.7 stable yet?  And I heard there were some problems with it having to be reinstalled often, things like that.
What is Nspire8x?

Ndless 1.7 is not completely stable, and it does take several tries to get it installed.

Nspire8x is a program by BrandonW that allows you to organize files, etc., on an Nspire from a TI-84.  It also has a port of the Ndless installer, so you can install Ndless from it.

Hmm, found Nspire8x, might be able to use it...
Also, my Nspire only turns on once O_o.  I turn it on, and it works fine, but when it turns off again, I have to remove a battery to get it back on, which is a bit of an inconvenience :P re-installing the OS doesn't work.  Any ideas?

That is the well known "Power Management Bug".  That is a bug present with OS 1.1 and all Nspires made after 2007.  Pick up a copy of calc84's reset.tns, and before you turn your Nspire off, leave the cursor over this document.  Once Ndless is installed, every time you turn on your Nspire, press enter and it will reboot, causing the screen to come on.

Ah.  I notice a common theme with TI here... the longer their products are in production, the worse they get :P
I need to get Ndless properly installed first, though.
Could you point me to calc's program?

It is fairly safe to use 1.7, which among other things supports static variables and doesn't suffer from the bug.
SirCmpwn I assume you are going to code for the Nspire, which is even more reason to use 1.7 (you want everything to be compatible with the latest Ndless).

I have some tns files, but they are old and ustable...

I will send'em to you, but if I was you I wouldn't put it in my calc...

It seems that every 3 year since 2001 they get 10x worse ;D

2001: new TI-82s breaks compatibility with all old ASM games
2004: bad 83+/84+/84+SE LCDs screws with old Mirage/Ion games
2007: new 84+/SE hardware removing 80 KB of extra RAM. New Nspires with power bug issue when Ndless is installed

Yeah, not quite.  gbc4nspire is one of the primary reasons I installed Ndless, and it's not working.
