I need help with my TI NSpire CX CAS.
I've tried to register my TI, but it says that it's no correct licence-code for this sort of product.
But it's the correct code. And it's the only code I have.
WHAT SHOULD I DO???
And how to send a gme like Bobby Carrot to my TI?

you could try using TiLP to send files to your calc
-
TiLP?
What is that?
Where can I get it?
-
http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilp/
It's the third-party linking program made by Lionel Debroux and other members of the calc community (discussion thread here (http://ourl.ca/4010)).
If the license code TI gave you doesn't work, you should probably email TI about it.
EDIT: I don't believe you need a license to use TI's Nspire link software (http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_nspire_computerlink.html)...
-
here you can download TI-LP: http://ourl.ca/4010/215654
-
TiLP works as wonderfully as TI-Connect to upload files on your calculator, here's the download link:
http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/374/37481.html
EDIT: Oh god double ninja'd. And we all gave different URLs. Also I think you should get the version in ben_g's post, it's the latest.
-
Does TiLP support the CX yet, though? I remember hearing about the CX having a slightly different transfer protocol. Even Computer Link software will not work properly.
-
And how to send datas (games) to the Nspire cx cas??
Is it possible, of not?
-
once you get the Student Software (which is an emulator) set up, there is a button on the top that says send tns or something.
as for the liscense, I would email TI-Cares(not)
-
Yeah I'm afraid we need the student software now, which is not free.
This means now we need to pay extra money to send files to our calc after the trial period of 30 days expires O.O
-
SHIT!
So I have to buy a special program?
But I've Installed the test trail for 30 days.
Where is this buttom?
I can't fing it!
-
Try looking through the menus. It should say something like send file to calculator
-
wait, hold up. So your calc didn't come with a free copy of the student software?!
Now we really need a 3rd party linking software, otherwise development is almost useless.
wait, let me get a screenie...
EDIT: also, did your calc come with a slidecase?
EDIT2: I couldn't find it in the menus either, but this works too. Just drag it into the folder you want it to be in.
-
(http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/JosJuice/random175.png)
When you click there, connect your calc. You should see the contents of your calc and your computer.

I think early TI-Nspire CX calcs, along with certain retail versions and ones given by school, won't come with it. Now I think all of them do, but I could be wrong.
-
I got mine before they were officially released, and it had student software, slidecase, etc.
-
Ah that's good.
From what I gather, they might have planned everything, but the issue that remains is if somebody buys his calc used on Ebay or elsewhere, and it misses the CD/serial...
-
I have still Problems:
-
Did you connect your CX?
If you did, TiLPs drivers are messing with TI's, so uninstall TiLP completely, and remove the drivers.
-
Have you checked to make sure its connected and the drivers installed correctly?
-
Go through the basics I guess. Is the calc on? Is it plugged in? Are the batteries fresh? Did a window pop up on the computer asking to install it (and is it installed)?
(do the Nspires have a link mode, or is that only casios?)
-
I've tried it.
nothing happens.
I can klick on it and moxe it, but nothing happens then.

Nspires don't have a link mode.
-
:banghead: :banghead:
And how can I send something on the TI??
-
Ask here... (http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/DEUTSCHLAND/nonProductSingle/service_supportform.html)
Good luck...
-
Thanx.
I'll maybe make it today or tomorrow.
(Not much time now - Must finish a text for scool) :P

We all do. :P
-
;D So I'm not the only one! ;D
Why has noone on Omnimaga made an alternative linking Program??
Is it because it wouldn't be legal?
Everyone hates TI-linking-programs, but noone makes alternative ones.

There is an alternative program already - it's called TiLP.
-
Yes, I know.
But where's a Program for TI NSpire CX CAS??
-
I think like... 3 people on this forum have a TI-Nspire CX so far. If TILP doesn't work yet, don't expect it to until the developers get a CX and program support for it :P

-
No idea when that could be: I don't currently plan on buying a Nspire CX (CAS), and I'm not sure TI would feel like lending any to me...
-
I would just email TI, be patient, and maybe someone would make an alternative. But then again, it may be illegal since the Student Software casts money...
-
*costs
who cares if something is illegual?
They just should not know... ;D
HAVE YOU NEVER DONE ANY ILLEGUAL THINGS?

Tried it four Times:

I hate TI-Software!
-
No need for such big font X.x
Just email TI (http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/nonProductSingle/support_contact.html). Their service reps may not always know what they're talking about, but you're a legitimate customer with a legitimate complaint about legitimate software, and TI's a corporation that still cares (sorta) about business.

true, they just care about stuff we can do something about. They are still bound by laws. And sadly, the laws say nothing about no anti-jailbreak software.

I got an Answer:
... Leider unterstützt Texas Instruments keine Spiele am Taschenrechner. Wenn ein
externes Spiel installiert wird, ist somit das Garantierecht entfallen und der
Taschenrechner kann von uns nicht mehr ausgetauscht werden.
... Unfortunately, no games at Texas Instruments calculator. When a
external game is installed, is thus eliminated and the legal guarantee of
Calculators can not be replaced by us.
I've asked now, HOW to install something on The TI.
Who cares about the guarantee?
-
Oh wow, TI is quite retarded. From what they say, it seems like they think that you're trying to install an Ndless program and not a Lua program...
-
No.
This was my question:
Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, Spiele wie BOBBY CARROT
http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9064.0;attach=8373 (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9064.0;attach=8373)
(.tns - Format, in LUA) an einen TI NSpire CX CAS zu senden?
Is there a possibility, games like BOBBY CARROT

(Tns -. Format in LUA) to send to a TI Nspire CAS CX?
-
Ah, okay. I guess they're just acting stupid, then - Lua games are supported by all calcs running 3.0, and they probably won't void your warranty since TI officially supports the language. Maybe you should try asking them again, but only say that you want to send a .tns document, without saying that it's a game?
-
TI-Cares ("TI doesn't care") being completely incompetent and spreading FUD, once more...
-
I've askef for sending Pictures AND OTHER PROGRAMS to the TI.
TI says, that TI NSpire CX CAS supports .JPEG .PNG and .BMP
So they'll have to tell me this.
If I know how to send pictures, I'll get known how to send OTHER PROGRAMS ;D
But I really think, that they don't like to tell me how to send games on it.
TI software, I hate you! :w00t:
-
I got the answer:

I think I'll tell them, that the SOFTWARE GUIDEBOOK tells me 0n 8 pages, that I can use .JPEG .PNG . BMP and how to insert them in a document.
But not how to send to the TI.
I'll ask him if they all just want to cheat me, or whether he explained to me, as I send data to the TI.
-
I'll ask him if they all just want to cheat me, or whether he explained to me, as I send data to the TI.
They probably just want to cheat you out of everything. They think that showing you how to send games to your calc is very dangerous, because then teachers might have students that play games...
-
Maybe just ask him how to send an .tns file to your calculator. Or better that it does not seem to work with THEIR software. And they have no reason to play stupid(formulate this a bit more polite ;)) just because you encountered this problem while trying to send a .tns containing a game... since it could have been stuff for school! what you're trying to seen(at least in theory).
-
Maybe you should e-mail TI-Cares Belgium instead. According to Stefan Bauwens and Jim Bauwens they seem very competent. ;D
-
yeah, and ask them how to send the TI periodic table document. And mention the connection issues.
-
This forum should get together and buy Lionel Debroux a TI CX CAS. $1 a piece should get it done and then some.
-
I have access to a CX model, which enabled me to do http://svn.tilp.info/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi?view=revision&revision=4385 .
-
Lionel,
Nice progress. Isn't the CX CAS different though? Do you need a CX CAS to create a compatible version of TiLP?
-
It shouldn't be, they are basically the same calc, but the CAS has the CAS functions enabled in the OS. It would be counterproductive for TI to have 2 different linking protocols when not necessary.
-
its TI though so who knows
-
I still don't think they are *that* stupid.
-
it might be so that they have a difference between the two calcs to prevent us ever putting CAS on a non CAS
-
They already have different signing keys for the OSes so it's not like we can put the CAS OS on a non-CAS calc by simply transferring it over.
-
The CX I have access to is a CAS. But from a linking point of view, as mentioned by t0xic_kitt3n, non-CAS and CAS models are the same :)
-
I can send things to my TI Nspire CX CCAS, now:
I've installed the software for the non-CAS.
Only the non-CAS is able to send something to my CAS.
Nice logic!
