Problems with Zoom Math
« on: October 22, 2011, 07:05:18 pm »
"Hey people,
I recently got a very useful app called Zoom Math discovered. You can download it here.
Unfortunately the app is only a free trial version has to offer, not all features of the full version. Only after you have purchased a registration key, you can use all the features of this computer algebra system. And here's the catch: Math Zoom costs $ 500 99.95. That's a lot of money. That's why I've been trying to guess the ten-digit registration code (xD), only this way: there are 9,999,999,999 possible combinations of numbers. In order there to get the right key, you need as much human time and patience ...

Well, I have explained first of all with the system: To purchase a Registration Key, you may specify the allocation by the app "zcode" on the website. Then, one after the payment sent an e-mail with the key. This can be concluded that the key using the zcode (which varies from calculator to calculator) is calculated. It is therefore possible to crack the key ... I simply lack the calculation algorithm.

I will summarize again. To get the full version of Zoom Math 500, I must either:
- $ 99.95 pay
or
- Guess the registration key from 9999999999 number combinations

Now my question:
Is it possible a program (in assembly) to write to me indicating that the source code of the app (a sort of "disassembler" for .8 xk files)?
Or you could develop a program that is in the app "hacks" and takes the guesswork for me (much like in bruteforce)?"

By the way: The above text was translated by Google Translator from German into English (because I was too lazy). Maybe the result is a little bit crappy.
The original German text you can find here.

Sorry for my bad English. I'm German.

You say... download it here.  but there is no link.

Btw, people haven't had to pay for apps in so long it is ridiculous, and there are ways to avoid paying.  Don't buy until we get some more info.

Google translate didn't process the link, but it's available in this post: http://ourl.ca/13584/54124;boardseen#new . It's a legal link, but IMHO I'M sure there are plenty of freely available alternatives on ticalc.org. People shouldn't have to pay for a calculator program when several and simpler versions are available elsewhere.

Also, discussing ways to pirate/hack paid softwares is against the rules, same for distributing paid softwares for free, so I would advise any future posters to refrain from doing it.

As DJ has said, discussion of ways to crack ZoomMath isn't permitted on this board. However, I will mention that it is indeed possible to crack the software if you want to do it yourself, but let's please let this discussion die.

Sorry, I personally didn't think mentioning that ways exist and not mentioning the ways themselves was against the rules.

Oh sorry, I forgot the rules. :P
No matter, thanks for your posts but the programs at ticalc.org aren't really Computer Algebra Systems like Zoom Math.
These are just programs, where you input stuff and it outputs a numerical result. Zoom Math is a little bit more complex.

And what free alternatives? I searched for some similar programs on ticalc.org, but I didn't found any good.

There may be, but they aren't here.

I'm locking this topic due to the nature of the content being discussed. Please keep discussions of piracy and cracking off of Omnimaga.
