I got out my TI-83+SE calculator today, tried turning it on and got nothing.
Changed the batteries, Nothing.
Put batteries in while holding DEL, Nothing.
Does anyone have any advice? I can't find Deep Thoughts tutorial for if this happens
SOLUTION: After about 5 attempts the DEL trick worked

Cool to see it's solved. The 83+SE is known for having quickly breaking hardware especially on very early revisions.

That turtorial should probably be stickied tho. Glad to see it solved itself :D

^This. It's unfortunate, but the 83+SE's seem prone to dying or having problems. :/

Well I have a revision A viewscreen model from august 2003 (that was apparently made until 2009) and it seems to be as solid as an 84+.

Haven't noticed that with mine yet ???

I agree. Iambian's first 83+SE from 2001 had glitched up screen after only 3 years of use, same for many other people, and there were other issues as well (in my case, the two I had had loose screws from the start and the second one had battery power usage issues after 5-6 years)
(Btw my first 83+SE was manufactured in March 2001 and bought in Feb 2002. The second one was manufactured in March 2001 as well, but bought two months after the first)

Hardware Rev I
Also for future reference, try leaving the batteries out for 5-10 minutes before trying DEL+ON

Since I happened to be around, I have done this. But yes, this is good advice that we should probably all do for own topics when we can remember to.

I think I made like one or two help topics and I've always been careful to do that. Helps googlers a lot ususally.
