So i got 4 games,
Tag, 16kb?
Jump,2kb
Falldown ,1,8kb?
Zelda, 16kb
and then it say it cant run tag as memory is too full, seriously does it have that little memory.
Or am i doing something wrong?
EDIT: sSorry wrong section..
-
Tag and Zelda take up 32 KB themselves but, try archiving them and running them via DoorCS or archiving them all and unarchive the one you want to play.
It seems that, there's not enough RAM to run the games so you need to free up some RAM.

You ran out of RAM. Go to mem menu ([2nd] +), then mem management, then programs, and archive everything but Tag, then run tag
Ninj'd

why cant it be saved on normal memory?
archiving is just a * at it right?
if it is it works :)
-
You don't have enough of it left to run them.
-
well if clickign on them and making a * appear is archiving i've just done it and it works perfect :)
Btw, if i transfer a file, does it first get saved on the RAM till i archive it? if it is, that's stupid
-
Whether programs are initially in RAM or Archive, they need to be in RAM to run. If there isn't enough free RAM to take the program the program will not run. This is solved by archiving as many things as possible.
EDIT: or deleting junk vars, such as the TIOS lists.
IIRC linking programs give you the option whether to send to RAM or Archive.
-
It depends. On some versions of TI-Connect, yes. But I've seen some where they ask you where to store it.
And yes, the * means it is archived, glad it worked.
BTW, I suggest archiving everything and using MirageOS or another shell that allows you to "run from archive", which simplifies the process a lot

Which are junk vars how do i spot them?
Btw no need to run doorCS, all games that did not run before do run now after getting DCS :)
so no need to boot up dcs up anymore too wooohoo
spacky 2 didnt work before, got DCS started up once in DCS now works normally with only prgm function!
all games that needed asm dont need it anymore )
yeah i archived all my games and they all bootup sucessfully with only the prgrm button wOHHOO
i still remember the old way, 2nd,0,asm,<insert game> for jump

L1 to L6, Matrix [A] to [J], and the other preset variables, (A-Z, theta, str1-0, Pic1-0, etc)
-
yeah thanks for the archiving tip it works perfect now,
im also extremely happy with DCS it lets me run all game with only prgrm, which did not work before ofc :P
-
Archiving is always a good way to make sure you have plenty of ram to run anything, as been previously mentioned
-
Just to clarify, when referring to shells "run from archive" doesn't mean run directly from archive, it automatically copies it to RAM then runs it.

yeah i knew that,
but thanks for trying to learn me something ;)
whats zstart?

Another program that does basically what DCS is doing for you. If it's working, there's no need to bother unless you run low on archive, which shouldn't be a problem unless you're running an 83+. The 84+ and 84+ SE have plenty of archive space.
