Title: [be honest]Am I a troll?
Post by: Ashbad on January 06, 2011, 01:57:11 pm
Hello, omnimagians,

I realized last night that I was acting like a troll on TKZ and thanks to you guys I was able to correct that.  But now I'm wondering: do you guys think me of a troll here as well?  I don't think I am, but then again, I never think I'm a troll even when I most definately am.  I just want to know so that I can improve upon myself this new year.  And be honest.

Thanks in advance, Ashbad.

I also think I'm not a troll, but I am. However, I'm pretty sure you're not.

If you were a troll, you wouldn't be asking whether we thought you were a troll or not   :)

Source: I'll admit to trolling on certain sites that absolutely beg for it.

If you contribute programs, and are working on projects, then you aren't a troll.

That is not true. I can contribute to the community, release lots of projects and still be banned and being a troll.

eh, I said you'r not and that means that you aren't.  You do have your moments, but those are getting very rare these days.  so your not, my friend :D :D

EDIT (yunhua98): added a comma so it didn't sound like Scout's not Ashbad's friend.  ;)

I didn't mean me. I meant someone, someone can make programs, contribute, be constructive, but still be a troll sometimes.

Nope you're not a troll here Ashbad. I noticed some comments on TKZ and Casiocalcs were trollish but it seemed like you acknowledged you did wrong. I don't think Scout is a troll either, although he has learned slower on some stuff.

Sometimes someone might post trolls without knowing it, but in fact, he just doesn't know the netiquette well. Also note that there are different types of trolling, some of which aren't that bad, but others that can cause trouble. Most are meant to have fun at other people expense, cause a reaction or waste people time. An example of trolling would be if an experienced TI programmer joined with a duplicate forum account to ask how to turn ON the calc to get people to answer him, then re-ask the same question again and again like if he was ignoring the answer. His purpose there is not to get the answer, but rather get people who help to lose patience and get angry. Another type of trolling is posting a video claiming to be a trailer of Final Fantasy 15, for example, but the video is a rickroll or scary pop-up. The most typical and destructive type of trolling is when someone make fun of others, insult them, their contributions or the entire website or even start fights between members.

This.

Seriously tho, you're awesome. Not a troll. You may actually be an anti-troll.

I would describe you as someone with a very sharp tongue, and a need to point out when someone else is being nasty.
