I seem to remember a few people (finaleTI for one?) mentioning they were scouts and I was wondering just how many we have here :P
No pressure if you don't want to say, just a fun little topic
Also I'd also like to know if you went to the 2010 jamboree...and what kind of patches you got. it's always fun to share stories ;)
-
Yep, you remembered. :) I'm a Life Scout.
I wish I could have gone to the Jamboree, but I went to Seabase instead (finally, since my original trip to Seabase got canceled due to Hurricane Fay back in 08).
-
What do you mean by "scouts?" Like Boy Scouts?
-
I'm pretty sure he meant Boy Scouts, since he mentioned the 2010 jamboree, plus it looks like his new avatar is part of a Boy Scout patch and I think I see an OA pocket flap in the corner of it.
-
Ah ok. I haven't been a scout in a long time, but I used to be.
-
I'm a scout right now. I'm at First Class, but will be Star shortly.
-
Awesome! Congratulations on almost getting your Star.
-
I'm an Eagle. :) It's cool to see other scouts on here. ;D
-
That's pretty awesome! I'm just three merit badges, my project and sitting before the Eagle Board before I get my Eagle.
-
i was at one point, but i quit out of frustration. i completed everything i needed for life, but officially i never got past tenderfoot because the dude running it forgot to give me any awards for an entire year(despite my constant remindings). it was like i was invisible; only two people in the entire group knew my name.
an example:
at one point we got a new troupe leader, and i was the first person to shake his hand and welcome him when he walked in the door. half a year passed, during which time i attended many camping trips and such, and after that i got very sick and didnt go again for two weeks. when i came back he walked up to me, shook my hand, and asked if i was new...
i didnt even officially quit; i just stopped going and nobody ever said anything.

Thanks. :)
Which three?
-
Personal Management, Communications and Family Life.
I'm closest to being done with Personal Management.
-
Ah, okay. Good luck on them, especially Family Life! ;D
-
Thanks.

this guy

I haven't been one for a while. My problem was we never did anything, so I quit.
-
I never joined scouts, because it required a car to get to places, which my mom did not have. I was in some sort of summer thing where we went during daytime at week and did some stuff and even went to Six Flags La Ronde every year for a while, but with the years we did fewer and fewer stuff and it got boring, so we stopped going there.
-
Wow, a lot of people.
Jambo was really fun, although seabase (I went last year) was pretty epic too.
It was a common occurence for random people to shout "the game" at you as you walked past... and the jamboree radio station once rickrolled the entire camp lol ;)
I'm also a life scout...1 merit badge to go (Personal fitness) and my project proposal is (hopefully) going off to the council reviewers soon....
Family life and Personal management took me literally more than 2 years to finish because I was SO lazy ;D
-
Lol at the rickroll ;D

I play scout in TF2 alot.
-
Lol Netham45. Same in Starcraft, but I think it has a different meaning :P
-
Need a dispenser here... Need a dispenser here... Need a dispenser here... Need a dispenser here... Nee---
Err... I mean... I never got into the scout stuff. I was more of a "stay inside and play video games" person. Which meant I spent 24-7 doing inane extracurricular activities that my parents signed me up for without my consent :P
I probably would have made a horrible scout anyway `-`
-
You could have rickrolled people there ;D
-
Yes i'm scout too =)
And i think we'll go in jambo 2011 in suede.
-
Ah, I was a scout when I was younger.. What made me quit though is that every meeting they did random stuffs anymore and didn't actually do anything except games.. and I'm not the person now that I was when I was younger to go out on trails and such.
edit: I haven't been one for a while. My problem was we never did anything, so I quit.
yeah pretty much same here
