Why am I only posting a little bit these days?
Well, I shall inform you: during spring break, I am taking a 10 live guarding certification class every day until Thursday from 9-7 -- so you can imagine I cannot go onto a comp or iPad whilst I am swimming or giving CPR to a manekin. So, you will also notice that I will be trying to post a lot in the early morning and late night -- just wanted to let you know so you either don get worried or mad ;)
Cheers to my regular schedule returning Friday morning!

Guarding certification is like for saving people from drowning at the pool, right?
I understand. I hope you return afterward. :D
-
yep, saving people from the pool who are either drowning, in distress, unconscious, or just look like they're needing help or are in pain ;)
I definitely will return at my normal posting rates afterwards -- only 2 more days left :D

Ah ok that's a good idea. Just watch out for nethams.

;) they tend to lurk in the 15ft deep part of the pool -- fortunately they're easy to spot :D
but, the pool I'm learning at has a 21ft deep diving well O.O my regular pool has an average one that's 8 feet -- thats 2.5x deeper than I'm used to! And we have to go to the bottom and pick 20 lb bricks from the bottom, and with no goggles, and it's very hard to see down there due to bad lighting and it being so deep! I'ma great swimmer who competes at states and even I am very scared going to the bottom of the pool x.x
Just kinda reminds me of the marina trench with lava beds in the water and sea worms 10 ft thick waving around from cracks, along with other horrific monsters...
I HATE deep water :( especially that deep.
other than that, good class ^-^

Wow that seems hectic O.O . I remember having fun going to touch the bottom of the 12ft part of the local indoor pool and it was hard because of the high pressure in my ears, and there was so much chlorine in that pool that when I opened my eyes for more than a few seconds they got irritated.
Anyway good luck!
-
thanks DJ :) good to see someone else besides me hate deep water :P
-
Personally I never open my eyes underwater, I just go by feel, which is kinda a problem. As for the deepest I've been, I've surface dove (starting from in the water already) down around 12 feet and grabbed a rock off the bottom before. :) I was pretty proud of that. ;D
-
@Asbad: I love swimming myself, but the deepest pool I've had experience with was 12 feet. I also dislike opening my eyes underwater without goggles, but I completely understand why they would require it for lifeguard training. You may not have the luxury to go grab or put on goggles in the event of an emergency. Anyhow, good luck with your training! :)

I tend to avoid googles, because most of the time the water gets inside anyway.

You mean goggles, right? I don't think water will get inside Google. :P

21 feet! When I took my BSA Lifeguard certification class, our pool only went down to 9 feet, and our community pools only go down to 10. So, wow. I can't even imagine how bad the bottom is, and I usually don't mind the bottom of pools.

I usually love to swim, but I do not enjoy it nearly as much without goggles. I use to swim in meets and all of that but not as much anymore because I left my swim team. I can not imagine what 21 feet deep would be like. I don't really like 12 feet because I am extra sensitive towards pressure changes.
-
I'd guess it's that deep because they have a high dive (maybe?). I Can't see any other reason it would be that deep.
-
There's 4 tiers of diving boards -- 4 feet high normal, 15 feet high medium, 30 feet high high, and a mostly-restricted 60 foot high cement diving block that you have to have a license to use because too many people hurt themselves on it x.x

Woah Ashbad, that's very nice of you. Awaiting a more active period of you too :D
