Awesome Site Corner #02: Pokemon Netbattle Supremacy

Allright, today is an online game, rather than a useful tool or somesuch. But I have to admit that it's pretty damn cool! It's called Pokemon Netbattle Supremacy, an update of the hit Pokemon battle simulator, TVIan's Netbattle! This is the ULTIMATE update, it covers all Pokemon and attacks now, including Diamond and Pearl, using formulas from the games themselves.

For nostalgics, it even features online battles of the older generations of Pokemon, all the way back to Red and Green. This is just a simulator though, and is only for people trying to get a competetive edge in Pokemon battling. Fortunately, you can build your team using any Pokemon from the start in it's Team Builder function. There are plenty of servers to check out, in ALL languages, and several of the bigger servers have their own scripts and tournaments.

I know you guys are too busy to make a habit of playing this game, but I think it is WAAAY to awesome to just pass it up. You ought to try it just once.

Damn... I was waiting for Netbattle to update and was sad that the creator said it was dead.
Glad to see SOMEONe bring it back up.
Competitive battling was my favorite aspect of the Pokemon games, but freakin' breeding for three weeks is no fun.
Not to mention leveling them afterward. It was unfortunate that none of my friends had the same enthusiasm about it.
The only time I got a challenge was this one Japanese kid at Comic-con '08 (San Diego).

In any case, thanks, mate. It'll give me something to do again later.

welcome, and you are absolutely right about breeding. there was one instance in which i desired a Bagon with a very specific moveset. i had to level a Seadra to 50, then cross-breed with salamence to get a lvl 5 bagon with dragon dance and hydro pump. of course, i had to soft-reset many times to get the nature i wanted. its IVs in the end were pretty swell, so it was a nice prize to have.

fortunately, i was able to actually utilize it in Diamond and Pearl with the WiFi battling feature, also cool. however, it doesn't beat the pure strategy found in Netbattle. Nintendo may have defined the Pokemon, but in the end, it was TVIans community that defined the metagame.

you know, this update is actually INCREDIBLY recent. like the last few days recent. I just ran Netbattle on a whim and found out about the update :)

Yea breeding is a pain... But i have a pc program that lets me make whatever I want. I just create, save the updated save file, and then put it on my R4 with my game. I never use it for anything that couldn't be obtained natrually in the game though. Gotta love technology!

Nice, I liked battling with pokemons at around levels 26 and 33. It was hard to find a good set at those levels. I only battled 2 times with silver and sapphire series. And my team of those levels hadn't a rival team planned with anticipation, too bad.
I didn't like to battle at 90's and 100 level... Only 60 or down. But now I don't have patient to play games for entire weeks. :(

That's what Netbattle is for!
Make a team in maybe 20 minutes and spend an hour facing people. =D

In other news, later on... I wanna challenge some of you guys.
Just know, I don't play with (or against) legendaries.
Also, I prefer double battle, but just tell me which we're doing before the match.

{AP}, you and me, OU double battle whenever. log will be posted here by me :P

in any case, shoddybattle was exactly what it said it was, shoddy. i have full confidence that netbattle shall soon surpass it now that they have the DP metagame.
