Title: connecting 2 speaker sets?
Post by: Snake X on October 28, 2011, 06:23:17 pm
I saw videos on youtube where people have say.. 2 logitech z5500's or one of those and a z2300, or any 2 speakers. If I have a logitech z 2300 speaker set already, and if i buy a logitech z 906 (5.1 speaker system) is there a way to wire it for 7.1 surround? If not how can i hook these 2 speaker sets together into my computer? The z 2300 is a 2.1 speaker set but only has 1 regular 3.5 mm jack. I'm not sure about the z 906 and its connectivity.

Depends of your soundcard I guess (if you're connecting to a PC). Some have 2 or 3 inputs to plug in 2-3 speaker sets, therefore creating 5.1/7.1 surround.

well mine has built-in inputs for all 6 audio ports.

Also, I have another question. If I buy a powered subwoofer and it has the orange audio port labeled "sub in", does this mean that is the port I connect to my computer?

I think so, although I saw subwoofers connecting to one of the speakers instead.
