Title: Decrease of activity
Post by: Munchor on December 22, 2010, 03:55:11 pm
Hey Omnimaga members,

due to my first term grades, in the which my average was 16.3 out of 20, my activity in the forums will lower. My parents are not very happy with this number... So, they have decided to forbid me of coming to the computer completely.

I'll obviously come here since the computer is in my room and they'll forget about it. However, I'll lower the activity to study more too :D

I'll keep coming here most days and I try to maintain an average of 20 posts per day. Also, my projects are not cancelled whatsoever, I'll be working in Ahead (http://ourl.ca/8449/156371;topicseen#new) mostly and relax on other stuff (Java, tiDE, etc.)

Good luck with the grades.  I had the same thing happen to me, too, but I'm starting to be able to get back on more now.

Good luck with grades. When they seem to lower you must focus on school more. If you need to study more, then study more, and if you need to practice more, then practice more. My parents were ok when I had at least 65% and were happy with 70%, and very happy with 80%, but I am sure under 65 they would restrict some of my activities. (Note, they looked at my average, though, not each classes)

I hope you can come online from time to time, but try to be careful.

I'm a good student, I'll probably finish the year with 18.5 as an average, but for now I have to get 20 at maths, which is easy, but I couldn't get any in this term.

wow, DJ, they don't look at each individual class?  My parents would be so happy with my grade if that were the case...
English == My Achilles Heel.  :(

My only 18 was English, but not English as native speaker :P

Yeah my parents won't look at individual classes because they knew everyone has troubles at some classes and are better at different ones and simply just can't help it. They also thought some classes in particular were totally useless. Here are the classes where they didn,t care much about low grades, except that in French they wanted me to at least have the passing note. I was really bad at reading comprehension.

Mine do look at individual classes. They will criticise every single one :S

I am self-driven. I freak out if I get below an A not because my parents will care so much (at lower than a B they might), but because I would care.

I either do really well in classes or horribly. Sometimes I have no motivation to do the work, such as English.

I merely forget to do the HW D: So some of my grades suffer for it. I wish my parents looked at the grades overall. They wouldn't go ballistic as much. (Though I do wish my Step-father would come around to the idea of medication for my ADD. When I was on meds in 6th grade, my grades skyrocketed. However the meds also made me sick. :(

"A!!! A!!! A is for average! Must get A+!"
Sorry, couldn't help quoting that.
With my school's online grade system, all assignments get an A through F next to them, even when they are simple homework assignments with only 5 points. For some reason, my parents  think that getting an F on a single homework assignment means I'm failing the class.

I'm okay if I get good grades. I've need an A more this year though for certain reasons.
