People tell me that I'm a nerd, but I don't take it seriously.

No, "mods" refers to moderators, people who have lots of power and can do stuff like merge topics for example, so you don't have a seperate topic and poll and stuff like that.

My school has the nerdy people, and the popular people; and we generally don't associate a ton I guess. It's a pretty large school, and so has a pretty large swathe of nerds, and we all hang out and enjoy and celebrate each others' nerdiness. Like, by wearing xkcd t-shirts, or by singing "Still Alive" together, or playing DnD, anything in that realm..

I have some nerdy interests - like this site - and I'm a freshman in AP calc - but other than that I am a normal person, so I fall under sort of. My school has a high asian population, like 30% or something, so naturally, there is a lot of nerds, though there are also a bunch of non-asian nerds as well.

Hmm got 74%. But knowing a lot about computers and related topics doesnt directly make you a nerd. When programming is more a hobby than an obsession, then you might just be a geek or a computer guy. Everybody has detailed knowledge about a specific topic. That's your mission.
If nerdy people seem embarassing for you, you are probably not one of them.

Sort of. I enjoy some nerdy stuff. I hate reading non fiction books though. I usually read the books I like over and over again. But I play several sports and am not anti-social. Also, people are generally surprised when they hear I do homework the day due, or finish right before class. I never study either. :P

It is usually not being anti-social, but social ineptness.

I'm not quite a nerd, but some people in school do call me the "Human Calculator"...
Also, I get payed for doing other people's homework, so maybe..

I am more of a geek but in between geek and nerd.
My brain has an awesome tendency to skip over obvioussteps in math problems. This simple algebra problem that is supposed to take several steps (at least in school) takes me one step:
3x = (18/2)
The steps are supposed to be:
18/2=9
3x = 9
divide both sides by 3
x=3
That is three steps. My brain automatically skips unessicary steps like that.
I immedeately know that 18/2 is 9 and in the exact same instant my brain already sees that there are three threes in nine.
Boom. Learning how to see apparent relations and patterns turns a multi step problem into a simple calculation.

Agreed. I probably fall under the nerd category, but I actually do spend time doing things besides comp stuff. For example, I work in the lights booth at the school plays. Also, I have a couple of friends, maybe 10 or so really good friends, so I'm not completely socially inept. But I am antisocial. I like my alone-time. A lot.
