Yeah I saw that in news today and was shocked at the money he got to pay. However, they need to start doing something about spam, especially forum spam, because it got really bad with the time.

Well we don't get much because we got anti-spams turned ON. However, if we had the other anti-spam we had, it would filter them even better.

With no anti-spam, we would get about 40 bots a day. This is what we got on the old Omnimaga forums (although none could post because of the filter we setup on new members, they could still register)

1and1 did some stuff (probably changing PHP settings) that caused the other anti-spam to stop working altogether.

Well they can post, but the current filter seems to work kinda well. We don't get bots pretty often. I am sure a lot have signed up, though, noticing all the weird accounts we got since the other anti-spam got disabled (unless they're all accounts by Verdant x.x)
