Title: Double Post bug
Post by: Roboman on August 29, 2013, 09:43:46 pm
Well... sometimes when you make a post... it puts multiple IDENTICAL posts instead of one... wouldn't it be easy to just block any IDENTICAL consecutive posts?

It's probably your computer filter.

Also I think there was a filter before, but it made it very annoying to post on fast Internet connections. There could be a SMF hack to block such content, though, but it would take a few months to code with school and work.

Iirc it happens if you click the post button multiple times before the page has a chance to load (ie double-clicking).

Testing with this post
Nvm, guess it doesn't send the extras through, at least through quick reply. Just freezes the tab :P

Maybe the filter is configured incorrectly? I alreade had a notice a few times that a post I made was a double post. Then it blocks the post button and the only way to still post it is to copy the post, go back to the thread, click the reply button again and paste your post there.

I guess that problem might have something to do with this one.

It's possible that flood control (which was 5 seconds, IIRC) was only enabled for new accounts, not regular members.
