F*** on integration! or: the force of circumstance

Sry for the maybe offensive title, but I just had to write this on eoff my soul before I go out and gut the next turk who tries to mess with me...
(No offense really. Just pent up anger directed at this sh**ty world and misunderstandings)

So what happened you may ask, to get me into this foul mood?

Well, today I visited a friend of mine. w00t. We played stuff. I stayed longer than intended, and it was already dark. When I was on my way, walking home, a lil group of  3 young people (about 16 years old is my guess) I could not identify walked past me. They all wore hip-hop like stuff, baggy pants, bling-bling and the like (no offense again here. I actually like baggy-pants, I would not want my trousers body-tight, eek.), and talked to each other in a language I could not understand. So far so good.
Then, I got a sound whack on the back of my head. Bedazzled and wanting to know wth hit me, I turn around and see a grinning face beneath a big red baseball cap. And receive a brass knuckles-powered fist full into my mouth. Reeling backwards, I stagger around for about 0.5 secs until I feel someone hooking my feet up under me, almost making me fall, but I stagger around a bit more readjusting my balance and finally stood again. With an extremely dizzy head.
Yay. I remember them shouting stuff like "Hass problem maaaan? Komm doch her!" which translates about like "Got problem there eh? Get it on!". Evidently they didn't really want to talk, but fight. Probably cuz some bad marks they had to let off some steam.
I did not charge them or something, but simply told them what brain-deficient creatures they were ganging up on me and that they should find another less violent occupation if they wanted to stay free men, and, physically intact.
It kind of seemed that I caught them off guard, cause they stood there a while and then turned and left me to gather up my bag and glasses again, which I could not find though. The other passer-bys had of course walked away as if nothing had happened. yay for social courage. That's what you get for helping people out in a land of egoists.

Wow. I know I was at least being very lucky getting out of this with only a ringing head, a couple loose teeth and a purple lip and bloody cheek.
Had they not stopped their attack, who knows what I could have ended up with. Heck, probably not even knowing some martial arts can efficiently help in a situation were you are definitely outnumbered and being the one unarmed and taken by surprise. But maybe it also shows what the word alone can do to stop violence: As I found out later while reporting to the local policemen, that group had already beat up about a half dozen people that evening, and I was the one who got out of it best with nothing broken at all.

Well. I defintely recognized that little goup as turk, and the immigrating turks sadly are the group our government in germany has the most problems with. We need their workpower. We pay them bad, many are not even employed. Many of the broad and in a way dim-witted germany population regard them as annoyance in social terms. They sometimes try to integrate as good as possible, but since that is kind of difficult in a country were you are already prejudiced against, some cut themselves off from society and kind of start their own society consisting of fellow immigrants. This of course leads to greater division in all aspects of life, thus creating ill-tempered atmospheres and moods among them. I was one of the ones that was taken out on. I perfectly understand it. For many, violence is the last (or maybe first?) way to deal with a bad situation. But most of the time, these people are simply not creative enough to find other solutions due to their relatively uneducated state.
But many (turk) immigrants don't give a damn about their children's education, and they themselves too sometimes.
That's kind of a bad condition. And not easy to correct.

On a side note, I find it extremely stunning only a few people have the guts to try and stop crimes as they are being committed. Granted, it is  dangerous, but as long as you're not pointed at with a gun or knife, trying will probably not bereft you of your life. But most people don't like to take chances. I know I don't, but still... I could not be able to stand my conscience that keeps telling me what I could have possibly done and prevented. But maybe I am just not that fixed on this frggin material world.

Open to discussion.

I suggest you start workin on some form of martial arts... Cause that is rediculous...

I was ganged up on by a group once... They didn't want words, just a fight, so when the leader decided to have his fun, and was the first to be taken out, they decided against it.

Moral of the story: take out the leader, the rest are just wussies after that :Ptongue.gif

Hope you get to feelin better though man.

Heh. I know some teakwondo, and never felt the need to apply it outside of the dojo, exept in mock battles with some friends who did some other form of martial art. That was fun.

These ppl knocked me on the head a couple times, and when I had the chance to react, I did not get at them. And they did not restart their clumsy pounding. So it was done. As long as I am standing when the dust settles, I feel ok.

Including Chicago.

This reminds me of something that happenned today.... I don't really feel like talking about it, but I ended up walking all the way home from a place that's kind of far away from my house and my mom got mad at me for taking so long because of some people who were in a group being...not very friendly.

The thing is, I'm shy at school.  But, I'm strong, especially for me age and  weight.  I was on the wrestling team, but I quit because of a lack of time.  Anyway, even in their group (which included somebody and his older brother), I still probably could have taken a few down, but I didn't feel like it would be a good idea....

Many people in my school get me really annoyed.  No, I don't mean that they repeatedly sing some dumb song over and over near me or something like that.  Here's what I mean:  I'm incredibly nice to them, doing them favors left in right, all of the other "cool"/"popular" people like them so they act kind of nice towards other "cool"/"popular" boys and girls, but if there is somebody who isn't considered cool or whatever, they act horribly towards him/her, even if he/she has done a bunch of favors for them and has always been nice to them, which gets me upset.

Look at these articles, they are perfect examples of bystanders not doing anything to help:

I did find an absolutely golden pic of a guy dressed up in a home-made wiimote costume flipping off ps3 campers though. XDsmiley.gif

As for mis-use of police, well it does happen. :/confused.gif

Whatever. I'm still living, life can go on. somehow.

/edit: omg I just got the news that a classmate of mine was beat up by them too. She did not report to the police yet, no serious injuries. Thank god. Although to think that they did not even refrain from beating up girls... *boiling anger*

[off-topic]/; Some dude kept bullying me everyday after school when I was in the seventh grade, so one day, I brought a homemade tazer and a fire extinguisher with me and after swinging that around at him like a maniac, he never bothered me again.

I ALWAYS have a pocket knife with me, even at school (but I'm a high school kid in college, so nobody there cares). I just glad that the few times that I've had ot use it that it was outside of school.

People used to pick on me constantly in Elementary/Jr. High. So I built myself a reputation. I'm not a big guy or anything, but when somebody hears about this short guy beating the heck out of a linebacker in the Principal's Office (with the principal in it), people tend to not want to screw with you.

@Spelli: There's no sense paying money to take martial arts classes (unless it's something that you're truely interested in). There are many other forms of defense out there. I would recommend carrying around a baseball bat. You can take them anywhere, because people assume that you are just going out for/got back from a game or something, and they're the perfect offensive/defensive (pseudo-nonlethal) weapon. They're great for blocking most attacks, and they are very effective at inflicting pain with a lower chance of commiting homocide than any other weapon.

This post seems a bit gory, so if anyone has any opposition to it's contents, please inform me, and I will modify it ASAP :)smile.gif
