read: he wants to stalk you. Just kidding Grin. I will add you later. I thought about adding a Omni group there, but it will be read-only, to make sure the discussion happens on Omni, avoiding splitting discussion between two places. That said, in the future, it might be nice if I added a Facebook/twitter mod on the site so people can post topics from here on FB/twitter. This could attract more traffic.

I like stalking people :-*! That would be awesome though, I dont know too much about websites unfortunately.

On Facebook I saw some people putting their phone number on there. Personally I would be scared a bit of doing that. I just added some of my online contact info, personally, and I did not bother updating my 3 years old pic :P

Frankly, I wouldn't even have Facebook if it wasn't for the fact I wanted to stay in touch with some retired TI programmers or some people from hi school.

I heard it was from 4chan/b/. Anyone knows details?
I saw a couple of threads about it today... but it was a bit unclear. From what I heard Facebook was switching over to new servers and was temporarily down.
Naaa... Na Nah Na Nana Na Nah... Hey Jude!

Yeah true, it's even possuible to create multiple groups of friends so your real life friends see it and online ones won't, or vice-versa..

As for 4chan I think there was a twitter raid a while ago. I heard it was the 2nd time FB was down, too.

I have my phone number there! Its not like I get calls from random people! (Theyre suppose to be your friends anyway!) I wouldnt put up my address or ss number, but I can always get a new phone number or just not answer!

Yeah true, although sometimes you meet some people and a few months or a year later you discover they can't be trusted, so bad things can happen. Generally it is fine, though.

I dont put super secretive information on my profile at all.  My mother just got hacked recently though x.x they got in through her email and used that to get into every single one of her other accounts and was talking to people via facebook.  My Sister was actualy having a conversation with my 'mom' (hacker) on facebook while my mom was in the room x.x She used many a swear words XD

Was it a hacker hacker or like a computer hacker that did automatic things?

It was definetaly a real hacker.  He was trying to get family members to send my 'mom' money by spinning some crazy story about how she was in london and she got mugged and the hotel wouldn't let her leave without making a payment blah blah he was very bad and nobody bought it

Facebook was not down due to /b/ (at least, extremely, extremely unlikely); it was already down, and then a bunch of people obviously new to /b/ broke out the preferred tool of choice to DDoS sites and were like "LOL WE DDOS FACEBOOK", when, in reality, they did nothing.  You would need to flood facebook with a collective 20000000mbps (or something around there) to DDoS it, because it has so many servers.

edit: oh also, you don't get DNS errors from being DDoSed (to my knowledge)

Ah ok thanks for clarifying. It's weird that when sites like FB/Google that hardly ever go down gets so much coverage in newspapers when they do anyway x.x

Also Builderboy that sucks x.x. I remember that happened to a few of my friends. I had to contact them elsewhere to warn them because sometimes they rarely used FB in the first place.
