Apparently, with Microsoft Paint (or at least my version of it) Monochrome bitmaps can be no larger than 1696 pixels high. Is there a free, SMALL program that can save bigger monochrome bitmaps?

I don't know about small, but I use Paint.NET.

WOW, I had a >1900 pixel image all along, and looked in the wrong spot :(

I wonder if Photofiltre can do it? Not Photofiltre Studio but the free Photofiltre (if it works on Vista and 7)
I think I made Metroid II Evolution map with it and it's much more than 1900. I don't remember if I ever tried a BMP, though...
