Title: Friendly Computer Pranks
Post by: ClrDraw on April 11, 2014, 11:54:11 am
Ever since April 1st I've been messing with the people who share my mac (os x) at school. So far I've flipped the screen, made it look like Windows XP, and changed the background to make it look like the screen was cracked (this scared the crap out of my friend, lol  :P).

What more can I do? Most programs are blocked (including Terminal and System Preferences) but the teacher doesn't mind unblocking them so that shouldn't be a problem. I don't want anything malicious, this is just a friendly joke. Any ideas?

Take a screenshot of the desktop, set it as wallpaper, then remove the icons. It's a classic.

Haha nice. But the icons are mostly useless on this mac... Is there a way to disable the dock?

How does that work?
By using software to setup a Linux .iso image.

Also, by holding Command+S when the startup chime is heard boots into a command-line that scared the crap out of our IT guy.

I remember at my college when we learn C# in our first year, people are always trying to script elaborate pranks, scares and epilepsy programs. Especially with the Console.Beep() function.

^This. Best prank ever in my college days. Or keep the icons but add a porn folder, then take a screenshot, remove the folder and people will try to click it. :P

I installed an mp3 player on my server, so whenever someone is near it I send the server a command to play sound. Freaks them out :P

A few years ago on April Fools I deleted all my friends desktop shortcuts and replaced them with shortcuts to restart computer. Then i changed the icons so it would look like his normal desktop.
