Here's a list of books that are good enough that I remember having read them. I'll probably add more later.
Fantasy
- The Saga of Recluce
- Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn
- The Belgariad and The Malloreon
- Artemis Fowl
These all happen to be series, so that's actually a LOT of reading material.
Other Fiction
- The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum
- The Dirty Streets of Heaven
Nonfiction/technical
- Hacker's Delight
- The Art of Computer Programming, particularly volume 4
- The Rocks Don't Lie
- Periodic Tales: A Cultural History of the Elements, from Arsenic to Zinc
- At Home: A Short History of Private Life
-
Damn it, you made me dig through my closet and get out the various books I have tucked away in there >_<
Anyways,
Fiction:
- Faust
- Daemon
- Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell(Highly recommended)
- Ishmael
NonFiction:
- 33 Strategies of War
- Battles That Changed Warfare
Technical:

I love reading. I actually read so many things that I can't make a list. :P
Here are my faves which are must reads IMHO :
Harry Potter
Christopher Paolini's Inheritance cycle (Eragon)
Tara Duncan (a French series)
...and a bunch of other things.
I used to read comics too (not American superheroes).
For mangas I stopped reading Naruto a while ago but should get back into it, I also read part of GetBackers (lent by my aunt who didn't have all of them) and the whole series of Death Note.
-
Harry Potter
Harry Potter. Must read. Something does not fit here >.>
j/k, it's just not my favorite series :P
In any case,
Epic and Saga, by Conor Kostick
The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan
Saeculum by Ursula Poznanski. This one's only in german, though, IIRC. An excellent read nonetheless.

I used to hate the Harry Potter series eighteen months ago, until my mom made me read them.
-
I'll add the obvious:
Lord of the Rings
The Hobbit
Silmarillion (did I spell it right)?
Other good books:
Paul Maier (might not like if atheist, not sure for other non christian people)
Fiction:
A Skeleton in God's closet
More than a Skeleton
Historical part-fiction:
Pontius Pilate
The Flames of Rome
Paul Dowswell (fiction)
Ausländer
Sektion 20
...and his other books
Other than that, I do know but I'm too lazy to look up the english titles.
-
How could I have forgotten Lord of rings ? <_<
-
I'll add a few, and try not to add duplicates:
Fantasy
-The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel(series).
The cover of the first book caught my eye. I started reading it and couldn't stop. The rest of the series was the same way to me. This book incorporates many real historical figures and mythological figures and weaves them into it's story. Great series.
-Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the looking glass.
Other Fiction:
The notebook, The proof, The Third Lie. (Agota Kristof).
The first book in this series of novels served as inspiration to the game Mother 3, which is why I looked it up. It was a very good series, many twists and turns.
Manga:
Death note
Great series that explores the idea of if the ends do justify the means.
Slayers (light novels)
Fantasy novels inspired by D&D. Inspired the anime series from the 90s. Great series if you like swords and sorcery. If you've seen the anime, the novels are a bit more serious. Only 1-8 are available in English at present, but still worth the read in my opinion.
-
Star Wars Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter (am still reading this one)
Star Wars Truce at Bakura
I loved those two books.
-
I plan to read the LotR series this summer. (I read The Hobbit three years ago, but I couldn't understand what was going on.)
-
I'll add my favorites.
Fiction:
The whole Scarlet Pimpernel series
The whole Narnia series
The whole Sherlock Holmes series, particularly The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes
Autobiographies:
Rickenbacker, an Autobiography (this one is really interesting, even if you don't like aviation)
An American Life, the Autobiography
Flying books:
Stick and Rudder (copyright ca. 1955)
As the Pro Flies (copyright 1964?)
Non-Fiction:
The F-94, America's Interceptor (copyright 1958)
Classics:
Little Women
Little Men
David Copperfield
A Christmas Carol
Oliver Twist
Ben Hur
Moby Dick
Reference:
Jane's Aircraft Recognition Guide
A Field Guide to Airplanes
Short Stories:
Miss Hinch
Other:
Lord of the World
Come Rack, Come Rope!
Fabiola
I plan to read the hobbit and the lord of the rings books sometime...

Ready Player One is my favorite book of all time. I think omni members would like it.
-
Some books I liked in the past are:
-Harry Potter 1 through 3. The rest are supposedly nice too, but I tend to not like books larger than 400 pages
-Replay: In this book, the character dies then wakes up again 25 years earlier, then dies again over and over, but wakes up later and later everytime. Kinda similar in style to the Groundhog Day movie.
-Dragon Lance series (very long series, though)
-Titralak: Cadet de L'espace (UFO encounter story. Good luck finding this book, though)
-Of course don't forget the Hobbit/LOTR books if you're in large books.
-
Hmm, let's add some in there.
- The Chronicles of Narnia
- Artemis Fowl (yeah already mentioned, but I liked it)
- Amos Daragon (it's in French, but I'm pretty sure they're translated in English)
And in the should start/finish category:
- Eragon
- Les Chevaliers d'Émeraude (again, in French. Québec sure have lots of good fantasy books.)
I didn't read a lot lately, but I used to read a lot back in high school, like 800+ page books. And of course, mangas. Reading a lot of mangas lately.
-
Oh, wait, there were more books:
- The Last Elf
- Bartimäus series (haven't read the last one though :/ )
- Eragon series (again, haven't read the last one :/ )

Aww, I can't believe I forgot that one. Yes. Read it. It's an awesome book :D

Agatha Christie's books are also awesome (and sss-sscary sometimes)
