So I went to the Marche Bleue, an manifestation to bring back a NHL team to Québec, after 15 years, with my mom and my brother.
On this sunny, yet somewhat cold day that was today, I was waiting at the bus stop near the shopping mall, when this guy suddently showed up in front of me.
- "A-A-Are you...?"*
- "Yeah, that's me :D"
I immediately knew he was him, despite not having seen a lot of pictures of him.
He was none other than DJ Omnimaga.
After some presentations, we took the bus, then passed the day together, at that awesome show on the plains where former Québec Nordiques players showed up. It was really fun, having some cool conversations with him.
What a nice day. Can't wait for meeting him again. :D

And yeah, me too I'm really glad I met him in real life. :P I was kinda scared this morning about not showing up because of my mom, it was the first time I met someone I met online in real life (I tried one time before and it didnt worked :'(), but it turned out it worked nice, me and my mom enjoyed it.

edit: yeah, I am in kentucky (not for the equestrian games, i live there).. If anyone is actually at the games, I might have like a .000000000000000001% chance of meeting someone.. I went downtown today and I saw a lot of foreigners there :)

Nope, it was the inverse. He said the first line. And bearded like I am, I'm kinda easily recognisable. And a bus stop is a nice place to meet people.

Anyway that was amazing. I wanted to meet him for a while, since he lives in the same city (but at the very opposite side of it), but we did not have the chance to do it until now. I asked to not work on October 2nd about 2 months in advance since I was going to the Montreal Canadiens vs New York Islanders NHL hockey exhibition game in Quebec city that night, but later this Marche Bleue event was announced and as it slowly approached there were chances that he might be able to go there. Finally he could and we decided to both go there, initially setting a meeting point at a bus stop in Quebec city.
I took a bit to notice him because there were lots of people at the bus stop then I spotted him but due to my troubles at recognizing people easily I wasn't 100% certain at first. We got in the crowded bus, talked for a short while as soon as we could get seats close to each others, then arrived on Abraham Plains, which were quickly flooded by a sea of blue (no, not lobsters):

Then that Bring back the Quebec Nordiques show started (where they presented many players from the NHL team that played in Quebec from 1979 to 1995 until they became the Colorado Avalanche) and it was fun especially with the ambience. Afterward we went to eat something at a nearby McDonald's. We talked for quite a while there, while we waited 45 minutes to order our meal, then talked more during eating and more afterward at Place d'Youville, until it was time for me to go to the Montreal Canadiens exhibition game. Juju, his bro and his mom couldn't come because the game was now sold out and they did not have tickets, not to mention I think city bus might have been a problem where they live. Besides the NHL return to quebec city, we mostly talked about our usual geekish activity from jailbreaking stuff to site hosting, obviously going through some calc talk as well ;D
In overall we met for about 6 hours. I was really glad this finally happened and I enjoyed it. This event would mark the second time I meet someone from the internet in real life, the only other time being during Summer 2009, when I met AaroneusTheGreat (http://ourl.ca/3555), during his school trip in Montreal and Quebec city.
Fortunately, since we live kinda close, it shouldn't be too hard in the future to attempt at meeting once again. :D

It really just depends how they are cooked and what the species is. The classic lobster that you see is red though (usually either a dark bloody red or a bright vibrant, but rich, red).

Summer might indeed be a better idea, especially if the meeting would happen to the North. I'm not sure all the californians, texans, people from Arizona and Florida will enjoy 20F weather and getting stuck a day at the airport due to a snowstorm. But even if it's more to the South, Summer might be more manageable as it is usually when most people are in vacations. Note that at work I get to choose my vacations in early April and I have to choose pretty much everything right away, so if it is planned before, there would be chances I won't come and if it's planned after, there are chances that a lot of people can't come the same week as my vacations. There's also the issue of parents for many other people here x.x

In case you don't check IRC or OmnomIRC, last Saturday I met Juju again at a show near where I live. Tonight I met him again.
Now I do not remember if I heard correctly but I think he wanted me to show him my entire calc collection. O.O

Note: Most of the time we were at shows of all sort so we did not talk during the entire time since we couldn't even hear each others, but when we did, we talked about computer stuff, calcs, site hosting stuff, how much TI sucks, Windows annoyances, phones, some Omni stuff, Netham45, music, some TV stuff and other related things. ;D
I didn't lose the game, but I got rickrolled on Saturday <_<.
Hopefully this happens again soon. :D (no, not the rickroll)

For further info me and juju went to hockey games on Sept 9th and Oct 2nd in Quebec City. Sunday we actually were at the shopping center beforehand, though, because there was a promotion for people wearing blue, such as 10% rebate on every used video games at Dimension, but I didn't buy anything finally because most of the games that interested me were sold.
That was fun for sure, although Sunday his bro came too and made us miss the boat so we had to wait 1 more hour to come back (although the positive thing was we could talk longer lol)
Also Sunday they had $0.05 coca-cola bottles at Couche Tard stores O.O

On a semi hockey related note on Saturday February 11th I'll be in Ottawa area in Ontario to watch a Senators vs Oilers game during afternoon. That will be a short trip, though, as we go there in bus loads of people and we arrive at ScottiaBank Place only 2 hours before the game starts, then as soon as the game finishes we come back to Quebec city. However if anyone lives nearby or happens to be nearby on that date maybe they could be able to see me, although almost the entire group of people will be wearing blue clothes and be together so I'm unsure how hard it will be to find me. :P
