I guess it only lists the main sites. Good luck mapping the 100 million websites there is on the Internets.

lol yeah, some of the websites are so small, even when you are zoomed all the way in, you still can't see the name :P

It would be very hard to try and track down all the websites on the internet as many are being created everyday. Overall I think this is a great effort, though two things:
1. The colour allocation. How is this determined?
2. The location of each website.
Oh wait, there are some answers when you click about.

Yeah, it's all explained in the About page. Color is based on country of registration and location is based on how strongly one site is tied to another.

Name too long and dot too small heh Couldn't find any though. Which site were you looking at?

EDIT: Kinda sad how t.co is much closer to facebook.com than to twitter.com. People link to FB on Twitter too much :P

I think the colors vary by the country they're based in, or where most of the traffic comes from?
I guess for picking the websites I'm guessing it takes a list of the top ~5-10k from somewhere.

*Edit* Ok, it kind of works. When I zoom in I can find sites manually. When I type a url in the search box and hit "find" it fails though. :S

Are you searching for the top-level domain name? You can search for "omnimaga.org" but not "www.omnimaga.org" or "omnimaga."
