It might be me, but did activity drop due to omnom being down?
Maybe netham could at least do something with spybot45 so that we get informed when a new post arrives. just a thought.

Jim offered to host OmnomIRC for the rest of October yesterday, I think once I get the bug patched (should be a couple days max) I'll take him up on it.

It won't take that long to fix it, but I can't really say for sure that I'll have time to fix the bug until tomorrow.

Yeah I feared this would bring down activity since a lot of people relied on Spybot in OmnomIRC to check new posts.
Not to mention activity is already down by 100+ posts a day over last fall X.x. I hope at least Spybot45 is still up. Good luck fixing Omnom Netham45.

The activity did really did go down. I used spybot a lot! You don't know what you have until you lose it :)

Well so far activity actually seems average with the last few weeks (290+ posts today when I checked an hour ago). It just seems to be IRC that is affected right now. Of course 290-300 is a huge change from last year's 350-450 though :P

I'm glad to see that it's not affecting it too much in the short term.

Yeah, I think the activity drop over last year was mainly caused by the collapse of the TI-Nspire community, which was our second largest audience, and the fact I post much less than I used to.

Levels have to do with postcount, not Omni knowledge. For instance, I'm LV7 and I've still got access to the staff forum (being CoT). As a general rule, don't put too much weight on postcount. ^^

Yeah true post counts are not an indicator of knowledge, more an indication of how much someone contributed to the site in terms of messages/text.

I know, but what I meant was the more posts u hav, it usually means that u hav been a member of Omni for longer.
That's y I said that they hav more knowledge.

Well it depends. Eeems, for example, posted 3000+ messages, but he has been member for 2 years, while Ephan posted 6000 times, even though he was member for one fewer year. I guess it's true they got more knowledge if their posts are quality, though, since their higher post count usually means they checked the forums more often and the spam/humor sections do not count towards users' post counts.
