Whee, I got my paycheck for $255.97 today!  I'm probably gonna buy a cheap banjo this weekend.

I have a job, only $1.50ish an hour though, 8-9 hours a day 5 days a week.

It is illegal, and I have no plans of ever returning.  However, I still plan on getting as much money out of this as I can.

wow, that's a low wage, in Quebec where I live some teens get jobs paid under minimum wage (8$ per hour), but I don't think I saw any that paid under 3$ (except for job that pay based on quantities (like berries)

It is illegal, but no one cares because teens want to work before the legal age (16) to get money

In Michigan, minimum wage is $7.15 an hour, but minors can get paid 80% of that and be legal. My boss is doing everything he can by the books (makes minors take long enough on breaks, that they don't work too many hours, that kind of thing). Some people though. Btw, this last check was good for me, I netted $400 on it.

Well, I'm getting another check for the same amount in two weeks.  I don't plan on spending any money until I get it.  Then I will be making a decision:

Do I buy a Wii, Controllers, and a couple of games or...

Do I buy a Banjo (<3), TI-92 T, and Bass Wah (which would leave a ton of money in the bank).

Save up and buy a laptop. I've got more than $256 (no, it's not a memory address, unlike what calc84maniac thought on UTI), but I don't want to buy any game console yet because I know that most console games don't last forever (a game that has lived forever in my standards is AoE; one of my friends still plays it everyday, and no it's not AoE3 or AoE2, it's the original AoE). In fact, you can probably get a crappy business laptop for $260 (I don't know which model it is, but you know it's crappy when it has a 667 Mhz processor) and a kind of decent entertainment laptop for $500 (A Dell Inspiron 1501 with a 14.1" screen; the 15.4" screen costs an extra $50 to $100).

damn minimum wage in texas is $5.15 :(  Stupid texas... Oh well i make $6.25 an hour, but i can't get more than 40 hours a week or they'll have to pay time and a half, or $9.125 an hour for every hour after 40.

Well, at least the California minimum wage is $7.50 and they are planning to increase it to $8.00 in 2008. :evil:

How much do I get? Hmmm...well, I don't work (I'm too young), so be prepared for some pretty low amounts...I get a dollar a week, but I get paid by my mom for some of the big chores I do (for example, vacuum clean the entire house). We also have this weird bounty on saving spiders in our homes (Don't ask %) )...

 thats awsome we get a bounty on killing them though that and flys. :evil:  I get 1 Cent a fly and 3 cents a spider and have made a few bucks an hour at that. Aka I live in a large house.

I get 10 cents a spider, though 20 forints a spider right now because I am in Hungary. The trick is that 180 forints=1 dollar as of now, so I'm actually getting 0.2 cents more per spider here than in Cupertino. And we almost never run out of spiders (My little brother and I always spare a few to make sure there will be more spiders).

What happend is this spider cralled out from who nows were
and we live in upstate ny. But it was as bigger than a gamecube disk.
when i hit it with the flyswatter.
Thaousands of babys swarmed off its back.  There still are its decendits in our house today for all i know the could be wathcing me no aww no get away from me ah ah ah

Damn $8.00 an hour starting next year, lucky you. I've heard that they might raise the minimum wage in texas up to $7.25, but i have no idea when this will happen :(

lotg, I got that size of spider too once in my basement, with all the tiny little spiders coming out from everywhere (none was in a radius of more than 10 inches). But they got crushed by a brick... mouhaha

heh, all you people with real jobs that get paid, i laugh at you.... my average hourly wage is ~26 dollars and im 17 so i laugh at you. unfortunately i cant ref soccer during the summer so thats down to 7.50. but duriing spring winter and fall, i work `10 hours a week and make 26 an hour...heh heh heh 260 a week easy. i just got a 2 week paycheck that had been late to pay for 533$ but thats going to a soccer camp.

lol good for you :) I just got a full time job doing commercial roofing for $23/hr. Hard work, but well worth it :P I bring home $1,000+ a week (I get paid weekly) for four days of work a week.

I've decided to get a mandolin instead of a banjo, I like how they sound a lot better, and I already know how to play a bit on them.
