So recently me and my friends made a movie featuring Nerf Guns as the main weapons, but the twist was that although they still fired foam, the bullets did the same damage as real guns! So there is muzzle flare and blood everywhere and quite a fun filled movie :] I am still working on the effects, but this movie also increased me and my friends interest in Nerf Guns, and just the other Saturday my friends (I was working) participated in a Zombie vs Human large scale game at our college that took place for the whole day, in which the humans had to locate information caches, rescue scientists and technicians, all the while fighting off the growing zombie hoard with a wide arsenal of Nerf Guns!
Anyway, my interest has also been peeked, so I have decided to buy this gun, the Nerf CS35 Raider!
Its got a 35 bullet barrel style magazine, with pump action and awesomeness ^^ I was debating on whether to get this gun or the Stampede, which has automatic fire but takes 6D batteries, and only has an 18 bullet clip. In the end I decided on this one :] Me and my friends are already planning to have a few battles of our own!
So what about you? Do anything with Nerf? Airsoft? General battle games around your college?
-
Now you just need to mod it for range and faster more accurate fire.
-
Me and my friend just tried to mod his gun and had a really hard time, we ended up having to take some parts from a ballpoint pen in order to fix it after the spring popped all of the parts out of the gun and we lost some pieces :P And after we tried attaching tape to certain parts and stretching the spring, we were reluctant to drill holes in the gun itself.

There are pretty good tutorials on the internet I've read/seen.
I would do this for myself but I don't have the money and my parents won't let me
Also you might want to make custom bullets. If made right they have better range/power than regular nerf bulets but they are a little dangerous(stefans)
-
Yeah we found good tutorials, we just aren't very good at modding :P And making custom bullets might be a viable idea, although they probably wouldn't be allowed in tournament games :P
-
They might be if you make a certain kinds. I remember looking at these tournaments before. I thought they said that stefans were allowed. I'm not sure if they allow heavily modded guns though, so make your mods invisible so they don't suspect ;)
-
Hah i looked them up and they don't seem to be too bad to make, mayhaps me and my friends will try ^^ Are you into Nerf?
-
I think I have one from the 90s that holds four (!) bullets and is leaky.
It's kind of overdone if you ask me...just an opinion tho
-
Yes but on and off so. I couldn't find any tournaments in my area for people my age and my brother lost almost all of my official nerf bullets so now all I have is messed up versions of stefans(tape instead of hot glue and a safety cover so I font hurt anyone)
EDIT:@Darl most default nerf guns aren't very good. They only become good with custom bullets and mods
-
oooh gotcha, what kind of guns do you have?
-
Longshot
a couple Mavericks
Recon
and a Vulcan
I haven't gotten any recent ones
-
Hmm...anyone have one of those ancient "laser" (IR beam) tag sets? I have a few of those and they still work ;D
-
I have a nerf gun with a laser beam on the bottom...
Its not very good though.
-
All I have is a small pistol that barely works XD This will be the first time I'm not borrowing someone elses
-
what kind is your pistol? I can't remember the name of my old one right now
-
I looked and i couldn't find a name on it, and I can't find a pic of it anywhere o.O Its pullback so it has a handle ring on the back and its greenish
-
Odd might be one of the tag style ones. What bullet type cam with it?
-
Yellow with a round tip so i don't think its a tag style
-
I don't know what it might be. If it had the felt/velcro like tips It would probably be one of the tag style ones. My brother has a couple oth those
-
I've been playing nerf guns with a few fiends for at least 7 years now ^-^
However, my favorite arms are in order of favoritism: Maverick, 8 bullet ghost, and high action mini pistol (has capacity for one bullet with manual reload, but it shoots insanely fast and far and accurate :))
I do remember my friend having a nerf bazooka at one point, but i think his little brother broke it when he started banging it with a hammer. But, it was pretty awesome :)
But, the fights we hold are not like CTF -- usually it's a 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 where each member has 5 health, and according the weapon and the place you hit them, you deal a certain amount of damage. You get a second chance when you die, and you get to 'respawn' after 120 seconds of finding a new stakeout -- though you only get 2 health. Me and my neighbor can kick anyone's ass in nerf -- I take small fast and accurate shots, he stakes out with his longshot and ghost recon.
-
I'm best at sniping with my recon/longshot.
I can aim quickly and accurately
-
My friend got the Longstrike and my other friend is also thinking of getting them. Me, I am attracted to the giant 35 bullet barrel >:D especially useful in fights, reloading happens few and far between :P
-
I want some of the new ones just I'm out of money. I need to pay for scout trips and save for a uberGraphX
-
Yeah, I get paid on Friday, and I am also getting a new laptop (paid for by parents cause this one is overheating :P) So in general it will be a day of much good gifts to be had! ^^
Methinks using the 35 magazine with the stampede is a lethal combination >:D
-
I've never owned a nerf gun :P I've used one before, though.
-
I use nerf all the time because my little cousins love nerf.
-
I actually just bought my Raider CS-35 and I have to say I am really pleased! It is awesome! :D
