Edit: Oh, almost forgot. DJ_O is now OVER 9000 days old as of March 2011.

I guess that might be right, though, considering this incarnation of Omni has existed for almost 3 years.

Well, counting today, it's only been 997 days since this (http://ourl.ca/2603/54135) post, so I'm not sure it's been 1000 days yet. How long before that was posted was the forum put back up?

This SMF board was installed on 1and1 on August 25th 2008, at 1:00:21 AM. I think all posts were made in the staff forum and the Welcome to SMF default topic at first.

I would probably attend if it's kinda near me (somehwere in the North-east?). If I do, probably DJ_O too, since he lives in the same town as me.
I think it would be in a rather big town everyone would be able to go (like New York or something?).

At least it would be on a weekend. I doubt I could convince my parents to go let me attend a conference with a lot of people I met on the internet though

Indeed, although such stuff requires a long time for planning, especially if it involves long distance travelling D:

We should rent the entire San Diego Convention Center for a weekend. (That's where ComicCon is hosted)
We could overclock our calcs and have LAN parties where the superior air conditioning would prevent us from suffocating j/k

As for me if there were more canadians here or people who can easily come here, I think I got a few places idea that can be rented for such stuff, although one of them sells alcohol, so I'm not sure if they allow people under 18 (maybe they can close the bar in special occasions, tho).

Well I'll be visiting Canada this summer, but unfortunately it is Vancouver :P
Maybe we should just do a skype chat for now. Doesn't Cemetech do something like that once a week.

Aw ok D:, hopefully you can come over here one day lol. As for skype I currently don't have my mic, but it would be nice I guess at one point. I kinda stopped participating to them after my real life went haywire starting in Jan 2010 then I kinda forgot. I kinda prefer Skype to tinychat because the sound quality seems better in general.

You should totally plug in your mic and Skype with us. Although I prefer Tinychat over Skype for multiplayer webcam because, well, I think Skype wants to make you pay for this feature, plus I'm not sure it works on Linux.

Yeah I know, I have it, but I meant the multiplayer webcam thing? Well I know there's some features missing in the Linux version, like this and the nice polished interface. I doubt they'll work on it since they got bought by Micro$oft.

Yeah, sadly. Personally I still prefer Skype to Tinychat, though, but again I don't video chat, so...

I like skype just I see no new versions for linux computers ever coming out while it is owned by M$

Well, I'm sure someone will hack Skype and make a GPL'd clone for Linux like they did for WLM.

The current Linux version is several _major_ versions behind the Windows and Mac ones, and has been. :(
And there are other video chat programs besides Skype, mind you, but they aren't advertised so most aren't well known. (I'm talking about GPL-licensed ones here ;))
