Title: PortableApps Platform
Post by: imo_inx on October 26, 2011, 08:39:07 am
Hey peoples. Has anybody tried out PortableApps? It's a great program that althoughs you to run Apps portably from any storage device. (I also installed it on my C:/ drive.)
Does anybody have any AWESOME apps that I could run with it?

I use liberkey (it's always worked better for me for some reason) but for me having a portable Firefox has been indispensable, especially with the majority of schools having IE7, Firefox 2 at best.

[offtopic]It's actually kind of funny what some people think is up to date, there was this one kid who was bragging he had IE8 (!) in his house instead of the IE7 that the schools run XD[/offtopic]

Moved to misc discussion, btw.

EDIT: ok list thing:
• 7-zip
• Paint.NET
• GIMP
• Greenfish Icon Editor Pro ..idk
• Firefox
• Google Chrome
• Free Download Manager  //haven't used this too much as of late, prolly don't need anymore
• SpeedCrunch  //calculator on the computer, never really used XD
• Notepad++
• HxD //hex editor

That after narrowing down by just wiping the while thing and only installing stuff I think I would use, rather than delete something like 30 redundant default apps :P

I recently installed an unofficial portableapp of Inform 7, an interactive fiction IDE, to my e-reader. It just felt right. :P

I used to have a StarCraft portableApp. It was a rare one because it was the one of the very few one that could run campaign O.o
But I lost that flashdrive D:

Oh it needs to be found somewhere and is different? I thought you just installed something and it let you ran any unmodified app or something. Personally I wouldn't mind the lack of campaing though, since I only play Multiplayer :P

those kinds floats around in internet everywhere. :D (The one with the multiplayer)
But it lacks maps so you have to copy from your original SC (or download it)
