 - The Lost Survivors (Unreal Engine) ACTIVE [GameCommandoSquad main project]

I think that is perhaps the cleanest, most organized room I've seen posted here. :P On a side note, I'm working on spring cleaning right now. By working on, I mean at the moment everything is pulled out, so it looks like a catastrophe in progress. :P

Is Linux fast? (possible biased question)
Does it support things like skype?
Could I still run Ti Connect and Ti-Nspire Student software?
Does it run .exe files?
Does Google Chrome/FireFox run fine on it?
From installing it, would I keep all my currently installed files?
I probably have more questions, but I can't think of any :P

No, but you can run TiLP. Or actually you can run them in Wine, not sure.
Yes (to a certain extent, in Wine)
Yes
Yes (install to another partition so you can dualboot Windows and Linux)

Yeah my mom puts a lot of pressure on me about that. My desk sometimes gets awfully messy though. :P

I use Linux Mint (with cinnamon)
It was pretty easy to dual boot with it, there should probably be some documentation for mint or whatever distro you choose

For the installing part, depending on the distro you use most of it's automated so the most technical thing you have to do is move a slider determining how much memory you want to give each OS :P  This should help, just switch out 'ubuntu' w/ distro of choice for the most part.
Also backups.

For TiLP, this has worked well for me ;)

Regarding the distros most people start out with ubuntu or mint afaict. links and stuff
