New setup -- I took a really small distro (Puppy Linux), stripped it down some more (15% smaller), and tweaked some stuff. Here's what's left:

I see many graphists have of their screens in portrait orientation. It's maybe less practical in games, but more designed to design. (Heh! A source code monitor with more lines!)

Nah, this is just the left half of my desktop.

Nothing of interest on the other side (no icons and the background just extends), so to save you guys an enormous image I clipped it off.

That's actually true—I find it easier to keep track of code on a vertical screen. Too bad this is on a laptop :P

actually, some games require that too. One Wii game in particular, which is like Touhou, requires that you place your TV vertically, same with an homebrew Atari 2600 raycaster.

Wait, do the publishers of that game expect the user to turn the whole tv 90° to play that game and then turn it back? :P

My TV weighs like 500 lbs, there's no way I'm doing that... :P

Most of the monitors I've used for the past few years have a few pivots and stuff on the back, including a circular thing that lets you turn it sideways. :P
Still a bit of a hassle though.

Maybe there are tv's with them as well? If it's possible to attach the things to a wall it shouldn't be too difficult for someone to design a rotating bracket.

Also almost 1 year with this laptop, yay. Desktop's rather unimpressive atm, just the same two-tone w/ logo wall and a panel that autohides to a 1px-tall sliver.

I'm assuming yours is HD, but there are some REALLY good resolution projectors. My church has one, and oh my O_O. It's soooo cool.
It's also nice that most tvs now have a feature to rotate them, cause If you saw my tv... You would never want o play that again.

EDIT: You should see it. . _ .

And yes, this thing has worse resolution than my Playstation Vita.

Lol. And yeah my projector is 1080p but theater ones were already 4k for years.

I hate projectors because they break all the time.
