I was looking through YouTube. When I thought of Rick but when I searched it I could only find the vevo version, which is not bad but what happened to the one that said Rick Roll'D and an annotation that said the game?
Or am I just overreacting?

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
-
Link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0)
That would be a copyright claim. Wow, that took them a while :P
-
*sniff
So saaad, now if you want to rickroll someone they have to sit through an add. And they'd see the title. :( I think we should re upload it just for rickrolling.
-
Well there are dozens upon dozens of rickrolls out there, for better or for worse. <_<
Now to wonder how many links this breaks all over the net...
(btw in regards to the pm, there was a typo (it's oHg not oJg) and you can always click the button saying "youtube" in the lower-right to go to the page)

It's gone again? O.O
I remember two years ago it got taken down but then it was brought up again. Hopefully it returns. D:

The video is back up now.
Fake copyright takedown requests are very common on Youtube, since they're all processed automatically with nobody verifying that the claimant is who they say they are or that the video actually contains any material copyrighted by them. And unless the video is well known enough to create a public outcry like in this case, getting them to put the video back up (and rescind the "strike" on your account) takes forever.
And somehow California trusts this company enough to let them run self-driving cars on public roads (http://www.mercurynews.com/cars/ci_20675377/california-senate-votes-allow-self-driving-cars). It won't be long before we start having trolls putting up fake green lights to make the Google cars run people over at intersections.

*YAY* It's available in germany!
Oh, and I just lost xD
-
The truth of the situation: we all just got rickrolled by AVG. :P
-
Glad it's back up. I was wondering what was the company that took down the vid about lol (EDIT: It appears to be AVG, an antivirus company, according to Runer112). It reminds me when my nDoom video got flagged as containing copyrighted content from some random Belgian TV channel, even though I am the very person that made the video in the first place (the vid is up, but it's blocked in Belgium)
And yeah I am not surprised it's back up after such short amount of time, considering this video is a classic even if rickrolling is not much popular anymore since the end of 2009.

Why, just WHY, is that song associated with the game?

*lost* Because it makes you lose.

Does it have any historical background?

Yes! The game

It is back!

That just was a double-post.
And look at this:

Could it be because the lyrics contains something about the game?
Otherwise I think it's due to the video uploader having added annotations about losing the game back in late 2008.

Yep. As I said earlier: "the game" ... "and we're gonna play it" etc...
-
"You know the rules and so do I"
-
They should have used the lyrics "we're gonna lose it" :P
