Title: Seeing into the future?
Post by: Happybobjr on June 20, 2011, 10:40:28 pm
Ok so today I have experienced something really strange.
Things like this have happened before, but never so closely or clearly.

Ok.  I am taking Trig as a summer course online.
As an assignment we have to post what we learned in the unit and such stuff, then comment on what others have posted.
Today I checked to see if anyone has posted on mine (At least one for me to get credit) and what was written, I had seen in a dream about 6 days prior.

I have had other experiences like this, but they were less clear and many years between what I saw and what happened.
It didn't always come from dreams either, like a little bit of knowledge just was there.
I am typically skeptical of things like this, but today really freaked me out.

* Have you guys had experiences like this before?
* Do you believe it has religious implications?  (No waring about this.)
* Do you feel it has scientific implications instead?

So i do believe this. only because of stuff we can not explain. in my opinion dreams all relate to what we call the subconscious which we know little to nothing about. i have had dreams where what i did affected others. i have had dreams where scenarios have played out that i was presented later on in life and i had a choice to follow the path the dream presented.

To me our subconscious has the knowledge of every thing a greater collection of mutually shared thoughts and beings. the only thing is we have no access to it knowledge to use it ect ect. dreams put us directly in the plain of our subconscious which occasionally leaks info out and such.

For me this is a reality its just hard and unreliable because every one is changing how they act nothing is set in stone. you can only see 1 path that may be presented to you out of the thousands of possibilities.

so i take it with a lot of faith, but i can not say i would put my faith in it when it comes to trusting it.

That was predictable.

Also, déjà vu experiences? Yeah sometimes.

I have deja vu experiences frequently. My sister does too. I think this has scientific implications particularly with how our minds relate to higher dimensions. (String theory predicts at least 11 and we only understand the first 4) :P

Who knows what effect those higher dimensions have.

Hmmm...maybe we can move through the 4th dimension, time, but only in our dreams.../me can't wait to go to bed and try it out!

I get déjà vus all the time. Not sure why, but I once got one where I remembered remembering I once remembered something about getting déjà vu. It messed up my mind for a few minutes x.x

@DT, wowlol

I think a deja vu is a mistake by our brains, but because we don't know everything about them, it could be something different.

^Baaaaad grammar, I know

This hasn't happened to me... I often have dreams that are quite realistic and tell me about things that could probably happen, but they never turn out to be true. It's almost a bit creepy, because I keep thinking that the things in the dreams have actually happened the morning afterwards.

most of the time, I think I dreamed about, but when i think harder I realize its deja vu.

in fact, as soon as I think, "is this deja vu?"  I feel deja vu.
As soon as I overthink it.  ;)

Seriously stop with the polish. It demotivates me to visit the site and discuss.
Well... if demotivation is not the purpose of the site called demotywatory..
Anyways, congrats.

This happens to me very often. I'm asleep, get a dream and a few weeks/months later that dream comes true.

1.) I've had coincidences before, but I don't jump to the conclusion that they are related to my dreams. The brain tends to try to associate meaning between things, even when they sometimes are unrelated. We can't help it; we evolved this way. I'm not dismissing the possibility of seeing the future, but it is very unlikely.
2.) No.
3.) Nothing relating to the future.

I get déjà vu sometime every so often. It's like im in a specific situation where i feel like ive done something before or it seems so familiar when i've never really forseen it or when it's in reality never happened before nor have i dreamed of that situation before.. it's really weird

Well, déjà vu is when you think you remember stuff when you never experienced it before. Also related to jamais vu, which is the opposite. Both of them is related to how your brain thinks, sometimes it fails at remembering stuff. Not to be confused with seeing in the future, which is you think of something and it happens. Which is I think is related to how good you guess stuff.

I've had deja vu before, but never in a dream.  Thus I voted both Yes and No. ;)
