Title: SirCmpwn vandalizes Axe Parser forum
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on August 18, 2011, 12:55:15 pm
It has come to our attention that last night, not only SirCmpwn cracked the IRC channel to take over and ban everyone from it, but he also deleted the entire Axe Releases topic that contained all Axe Parser downloads from version 0.2 to 1.0.2. This happened before he was demoted and permanently banned from the forums.

This went unnoticed until one of our staff Deep Thought received an e-mail notification from the thread in question, saying that Drew Devault deleted it:

Quote from: Email notification
Topic removed: Latest Updates (***DO NOT POST HERE!***)
A topic you are watching has been removed by SirCmpwn.

Regards,
The Omnimaga: The Coders Of Tomorrow Team.

As no administrators are currently online to repair the damage, Axe Parser is no longer available for download here for the time being. To get version 0.5.3 (the latest stable one), you will have to download it from ticalc.org (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/428/42813.html) for the time being.

We do not know how long it will take before the other versions return. If SirCmpwn only deleted the entire topic, it should be very easy to fix, but any other damage such as post editing (which requires restoring backups of the thread to repair) could take a while longer to fix. Sorry for the inconvenience this might cause.

UPDATE: Juju was able to repair the damage easily by moving it back from the trash bin, the topic is now back where it was before in the Axe Parser forum. Happy downloading and sorry for the inconveniences.

I don't even have words...

I have 1.0.2 on my calculator and I think the documentation that goes with it somewhere in My Documents, if that'll help.

EDIT: I did. Here it is (http://www.mediafire.com/?wrlezjmj241n0cm).

I wonder how nobody noticed it, but either way, it's terrible!

It's not often used (only when someone wants to download a new copy of Axe, and no update's been released that recently). The only reason I found out was because I had that on my subscription list.

Hope it gets fixed soon :/

BlakPilar I would not recommend the 1.0.0 branch for now, because some are unstable, but maybe some people might still want it anyway. Hopefully Juju shows up soon but I think he had something to do today so idk. Eeems or aniother admin might be able to restore the thread, assuming no further damage were done to posts.

Also Ephan there are many threads and few Axe releases, so it can be missed at first. Deep Thought happened to have e-mail notifications enabled for that topic so he got notified when Sir deleted it.

I added the e-mail notification quote to the first post by the way. I didn't even know the forums notified of those.

Admins should check in the thrash bin to see if he didn't delete other topics as well.

For now, if anybody wants them, here are Axe versions 0.5.2, 0.5.3, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2.

I know they're not recommended, but I like to have the newest things. Anyway, like we said, if people want it, I edited my post with a link :) (it wouldn't let me attach anything)

Thanks Michael. And yeah for some reasons I can't attach files to topics I didn't start.

No problem.  I also have a few 0.4.x versions I could upload, if anybody desperately needs them ( 0.4.1 and 0.4.8 )

Good news everyone. The thread was in the trash bin, I moved it back to where it was supposed to go.

0.0.1 is still available actually. Quigibo originally uploaded it in the main thread instead of releases.

Also any idea why the KnightOS/tiDE sub-forums content are still not in other calc projects/ideas, why those forums still exists on both the board index and the EzPortal blocks and why is SirCmpwn still listed as CoT on the About page? ???

EDIT: Juju thanks a lot. Are u sure he didnt edit any of the post though? Check for recent edits.

I'm supprised how this could have happened! It reminds me of an incident (I wont detail it) that happened at revsoft a long time ago. I wonder why Sir did this and what his motive was

I hope Sir continues to develop useful calculator applications, and I also hope that no other website will be vandalized like this one by him

He has been banned so we don't know his reasoning for this mess, but alas even the good can fall victim to evil ways.

<sarcasm>Thanks Sir, it's not like that's your own thread to delete or anything...</sarcasm>

I'm just glad we never decided to place him higher than CoT like we were discussing.  Sir (if you ever read this), I'm not going to vouch for you ever again.

Edit: Oh, and thank you to DJ, Deep, and juju. :)

I never liked Sir...  [/  the lies that alot of people do in real life so that they seem to fit popular opinion :P ]

Kinda wish he would have left a message explaining why... I thought he never had any issues with Quigibo???

Oh well, i will start checking ceme to see if he mentions anything :/ (and to see progress on peoples' projects there :D )

I think he was just trying to hit a major artery, Axe is a big part of Omnimaga.

True.  I am just curious about why.  He isn't very patriotic tword's ceme or UTI that I am aware of. So it doesn't seem to be for knocking out competition.
And why would he do it out of spite.

I am confused...

@Ztrumpet yeah I even promised him he would become admin the second he moves out of his parents house. However I changed my mind after the anti-religion incidents in May 2011. Also after I returned on Omni he started being a jerk and personally if I was still admin, I would never have promoted him to manager because of that.

This is yet another story about somebody who used to be nice and willing to have a friendly calc forum around, then a few years later is completely against the existence of a forum free of hostility. This reminds me the CDI/Bsparks episode way back in 2006-08. He used to be the heart of Omni, to finally end up banned for spam attacks and hacking threats.

Btw who moved this out of news? Not that I'M against it if it's due to the Axe issue being solved, but IMHO if it's gonna remain out of news then the other news article should be edited to mention the Axe thread deletion too.

I think what happened was is that he is basically prejudice against religion and some other things, like some people are against blacks, gays, etc... Eeems mentioned something about it to him, and he blew up on it.

From what I've seen, if there is something on the site that he doesn't like, he thinks everyone, or a large majority of people, think the same as he does, and he acts out against it as much as possible. Remember the MLP thread a month or so ago? He blew up at that and even threatened to leave until the thread was deleted/locked, just because he assumed that every single person shares his views on MLP.

TL;DR: He's just very close-minded. He seems to think that everyone else is either just like him, or the enemy, and therefore must be purged.

Yeah I noticed this happened before. Also when he hates something with a passion, he will hate on the people who likes that thing and not let it go. See the MLP incident for instance. Nwetham45 pretty much summed it up.

Also, after he got demoted, he said we caused him harm by forcing religion on him, even though we never did. He wanted everyone to share the same views.

EDIT: Since this was moved out of news I will lock this to redirect to the other topic: http://ourl.ca/12599

I'm just completely stunned at how quickly all of this has been happening, and I am very upset at Sir's actions.
Congrats, however, to juju for the save.

Wait I thought I locked this topic O.O

Oh well I'll do so now, we can continue the discussion in the other topic now anyway because the news was edited with a bit about the Axe incident.

Also IMHO if Sir was to ever start respecting the fact Omni and Ceme aren't his sites and that he has no place to decide how they are ran, maybe he could be accepted back here, but I doubt he will ever be staff again (at least not with mod powers). Also if he has been hurting us to vent his anger on online places because of what his parents did to him, then he will need to learn to do it on other things to be accepted here again. Also I hope he doesn,t do the same thing at his job because he's not gonna remain there long.
