Ok, so for those who don't know, before Ticalc.org, there was a site called The Unnoficial TI Calculator Home Page. This site opened around 1995, until Ticalc.org opens on 1996 Summer Solstice.
As you probably noticed, the TI community tends to get new members who are 13 years old when they start TI programming.
This means that Ticalc.org has entered, is entering or is soon going to enter a new era: The era of TI programmers who were not born when Ticalc.org started. :P

How long did you overthink that before posting it? You just want o raise your post count èhh? :P
j/k q:
-
Hmmm, never thought about that...
-
...Which means now there will be a sudden downfall of the number of quadratic formula programs!!! yay!
-
Builderboy why do you think so? O.o (altough if ticalc decides to disallow them again this will happen :P)
And NF, I actually thought about this for at least 6 months now :P
-
lol :p
-
Man, I missed being part of that era by 1 year! :P
-
lol, 2 for me!
-
3 for me x.x
oh, wait, I don't even really program :P
-
An historic curiosity I guess.
TI community without ticalc would be unrecognisable to who have seen it...
-
LOL, that's pretty funny.
new members who are 13 years old when they start TI programming.
Missed by one year for me... :P Quadratic formula programs are waaaay below my level, could do those at night without a light on. Someone give me something fun to do :P

Meaning now everybody will suddenly not have the urge for some insignificant reason :D

Before ticalc was founded, I think there was usenet groups (that can now be viewed on Google Groups I think) and there was a Calcs one I forgot the name of. I went there a year ago once and there were posts from 1991 I think
-
Isn't calcg older? I'm not sure.
-
Wow, I didn't even realize that. Now I really feel old. :o
It's kind of scary—the older I get, the faster time seems to go. I can hardly believe I've been on the ticalc.org staff for more than an entire year now. It really does not feel like it's been that long.
-
Wow I can't believe ticalc.org has been around that long. Ever since I read this thread I looked up some old games... there are games that havent been updated since 1997. I was so young when the basis of calculator games were coming out.

mapar007 Calcg.org started in 2002. It used to be called Calcgames.org. Their board started one year before the site, though. In 2007 they renamed to Calcg.org.
There was also Dimension TI (later renamed to calc.org) from 1997 to 2005 and TI-Files from 1998-2000 I think. Jamcalc.org or something like that too.
And yeah times flows faster and faster it seems. I can't believe we're alerady on POTY 2009
