In terms of defensive power of weakest to strongest, how might the following be ordered:
Clothing - common clothing
Hide - common leather and brigandine
Driftmetal - plate fashioned from scrap metal
Steel - tempered steel plate
Carapace - scale mail fashioned from sturdy carapace
Crystalline - ornate armor fashioned from diamond, granite, quartz or other hard crystalline material
Also, any ideas for main armor components besides these?
-
isn't that basically already in order of weakest to strongest? at least that's my opinion.
-
Well, I'm torn between steel and carapace. I'm not sure if the shell of an animal could, in any instance, be stronger than steel. :P
However, I'm sure there could be instances of carapace from magical or mythological creatures that is quite strong.
-
it seems ok for me.

Seems fine with me, I would reference *insert favorite RPG here* (it would be Diablo for me, first one..not that it is truely a RPG)..
-
IMHO, steel>carapace, unless you have armor fashioned from dragon scale or something rediculous like that. :)
-
actually, that was what I thought you meant by carapace: dragon scales.
-
i wonder if mythril is stronger than dragon scales?

Blue Tunic FTW!!!! Only take 50% damage! Wait, that wasn't an option...
-
wasn't it a blue "ring" that just turned the tunic blue? Nice though, defenitly the blue tunic(ring). :)
*edit* think the blue one might have reduced dmg by 25% and the red one by 50%... not entirley sure though.

^^ it's definitely lighter though

The blue/red rings are from the original Legend of Zelda; I was talking about the blue tunic from Link's Awakening DX. The red tunic doubles damage that your sword gives, and the blue tunic reduces damage received by half.

in Ocarina of time, red allows you to withstand heat, and blue allows you to breathe under water.
