I won't get into this discussion except to say that the quote is from Einstein, who was involved in the project to develop A bombs.

Actually, he wasn't. At all. Common misconception, though.

It could happen soon, but the reason and oponents might not be what you guys think. I'm not gonna explain what I think because :
1) It's controversial and I've already been flamed for this opinion here. I don't want to start another fight.
2) I don't know how to put it in a politically correct manner. :P

Also I must say that this one could be Cold War style or even a civilian war. And Europe will be the first to enter the fight.

Right now, North Korea is just your immature little kid who threatens everyone with his nuclear weapons, boasts he's the best country ever and have a hard time to be taken seriously. The USA can take it seriously, just in case... If North Korea ever does the slightest damage with nuclear, then yes it can easily skid into a World War III where North Korea will happily be the Germany of the previous World War. Or at least, a Cold War in the same way USA and Russia had one.
I have a pretty good feeling that if North Korea tries to be Germany and invade everyone with nuclear threats they would be shut down by most of Western Europe and the US. It might piss off some countries, but with their history of human rights violations, I don't think they would be able to be complain too much.
I remember that once people used to fear America cause it was in the same position as North Korea... Well the nukes and war made lose its power and blah blah the list is endless

True he wasnt involved but it was his theories that led to the discovery - for which he was eternally against, so much so that he said that "If he had of known, he would have become a carpenter".

I dunno why, but over the last weeks I caught myself thinking about a possible war more and more often. I've been watching the increasing demilitarization of NL and other EU countries and I must conclude that the situation is much like at the start of WW2.  We (that is, NL) have nothing more than a symbolic army. At the end of the cold war(1991), we had over 900 leopard tanks. Now we have none. I'm not afraid for a war, but things like that bother me quite a lot. If things go haywire, chances are I'll have to join the army (conscription shtuff)
I found myself mentally preparing for such a thing.
Idk felt like sharing.

If a global war occurs I bet that Canada will re-instate conscription again x.x. I would definitively have no choice to join the army then (unless they hired people to produce ammunitions and that they sent people to factories instead).

That's how WWI worked. :P Men on the battlefront, women in factories.
