Hey, i've been thinking about this for some time and i thought it would be maybe kinda cool if we had a yearbook.
Spyro had the idea of maybe it should be half a year, and if it was a year, should it be summer-summer or winter-winter?
And would you guys be itnerested in actually buying one (profits of cource going torwards omnimaga (ok, maybe 1% me (I hope you get the idea behind it)))
And malybe somebody also wanne help me doing it?
Whatever I won't start doing anything until june 13th as thats when i land in germany.
thoughts?
(i'm never so good at making topics.....)

I got a question. What would be in the year book? Usually people have pictures of stuff that the school did throughout the year. Would we have code in there? I'm not sure what kind of pictures we'd be able to get unless those pictures are screen shots of calculator games or something along those lines.

I'M not familiar with yearbooks, but it would be nice to have one.
-
Yeah, it would be major achievements and stuff from the year (or half-year) such as neat programs, Nspire hacking development, (cc40 programmers (me)), new OSes, maybe even some computer and Casio stuff.
-
and maybe active members writing a bit about themselves :D
-
we think this is a great idea!
we demand a section for "quotable quotes".
-
We would have to mail them around the continents to get people to sign them, too (which could be fun).
-
hehe, that would be pretty fun, actually, though i doubt it would ever work out. the problem is that it costs quite a bit; we'd have to have a fund-raising of some sort in advance rather than going out and ordering a bunch.
-
i recall seing a site for $10 per book but i think it was mass order and without shipping.....
-
Maybe we could do superlatives and for pics we could do our profile pics.

I think a digital yearbook would be better than a real one. It should be only approximately the same work to make as a real one, but it's far easyer to distribute, it allows animated images/screenshots, and it's easy too look thinks up using CTRL+F.

I agree. It could even include animations or maybe videos :D

...and links to actual downloadable content ;)

And possibly if there's a demand, we could make physical yearbooks from the digital one? (on a case-by-case basis, obviously)
-
It would be cool, but I wouldn't want to spend the $$$ (sorry :P)

I added a poll for if it should be digital

This sounds like a cool idea, I'd be of little use but it seems like a great way of a sort of history record of milestones on omni.

I don't know how easy this will be to do, but this sounds like a good idea to me.
Digital distributions seems the easiest and best solution to me and if you'd really want it physically, you can get it printed yourself :P
-
I think if this is done, doing it digitally would make the most sense.

It depends. If the yearbook includes gifs or even videos, you won't be able to print it ;)
Otherwise, yes, making it digital also allows a paper version :)
