whaddayathink is the best video game music?
i think this one from sonic colors is the best:

-Ys series, originals and remakes (my favorite gotta be the 2001 PC remake of Ys I and II).
-I also like Star Ocean 2 music, although the other Star Ocean games have nice music as well

^This. I love this game's music. ;)
Edit : Here, have some eargasm. It's awesome how much more detailed it sounds on my mid-end stereo than on the GameBoy itself. Guess they made it too detailed. I noticed that it also happens on the DS with internal speakers vs earphones.
I also love SMB DX music and all the Zelda themes.
Phoenix Wright on the DS has some particularly epic music too. :D

The fact with the GBA is that it bears a crappy audio hardware. Try resampling the music with the samples that are inside the Roms and you'll get a better audio render

Yeah even my GBA SP doesn't improve it. It's sad that the real hardware is not very good because it's the most enjoyable way to play. D:

Yeah it sucks because a lot of SNES/Genesis games that got ported to the GBA had much crappier audio. Some games audio was changed a bit, like in Final Fantasy VI, but it was still not enough. I'm glad that the DS improved sound a lot.

I love the GBA and the GameCube though. These consoles were the current when I was a youngster. :P

Oh wow I have this game and I loved the music.

Fun fact: They actually altered the sound files for the FF GBA ports to be less bass. There are a variety of ROM patches to fix this. The reason they did was because they wanted to match the speakers better.
For the most part you can fix the problem by using headphones.

I love the music from Super Wagon Adventure and the music for Bastion is good too.
My personal favorite, however, is the Sanctum/Sanctum 2 music.

All of AVGN Adventure music is epic btw :D. Definitively a must listen if you like Mega Man.

Best music ever. Best game ever in fact, they should do a remake of it on the 3DS. Or on any platform, I'll buy it if this comes out.
UT 2004 also has some interesting music.

Quite impressing for the console. Sur ethe quality started to get old but it's still quite the "end of world/game" theme.

No, I was referring to the music below my sentence. I never had any home console so I could not have tested TimeSplitters, while Hype: The Time Quest was available on PC.

Eyup it does. I prefer the overworld theme in OoT and also in LA personally. The sailing theme in Phantom Hourglass is pretty good too.

The Mystic Quest Reborn rendition of Final Fantasy Prelude theme sounds really awesome IMHO. I hate how in that ROM hack of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (Mystic Quest Legend in Europe) they changed the music, but this track in particular sounded really cool with the FFMQ soundfonts. :D
Btw the ROM hack is identical to the original game, except that it's much harder and most of the music got replaced. There exists an alternate hack called Mystic Quest HardType that doesn't replace the music.
