Title: DJ Omnimaga ringtones
Post by: Eeems on December 15, 2009, 12:10:53 am
was wondering if you (DJ Omnimaga) would be willing to make a few ringtones? My parents just got me and my sisters a spare cell and I thought, why not have some of dj's music as a ringtone? So yeah...:D

well, it would probably take a while to convert all, plus I do not know about that stuff much, so idk how I would do it. Not to mention I have too much stuff on my plate atm (not only work or projects, more like some personal issues)

Ah well I'm pretty sure my phone can handle mp3's so it would only have to be that...and I can get audacity if it needs a different format
ah ok, well let me know when you can

If you can install stuff on computers you have access to, you could always use audacity to do it, though

Well there is audacity portable...
What I am requesting though is an song made specifically made as a ringtone...so like a new  short one :)

Cool idea :D
Like one (or more) shorter for text messages and one (or more) as ringtone for incomming calls ;D

Hmm. If I had a shell phone, I'd probably use on of your ringtones once made.

Nice, is it a remix of a video game song? It sounds a lot like some Final Fantasy music

Maybe you could put it in the MIDI section in the Downloads section :P

A late answer: it is. I've got it on my linux machine, my dad on his windows box.

I've had it too, but I don't really use it so I don't have it right now
(btw, that wasn't a question, that was a statement)

A lot of my early MTVMG songs (2002) were done in a similar way. it comes with premade riffs and individual samples. However, my first songs only used premade riffs/melody loops/percussion loops and almost no custom ones. I took a while before figuring out how to do the later x.x

ah well the phone doesn't have the ability to make custom ones :/ I think
what do you use to make your songs?

MTV Music Generator on a Playstation emulator (ePSXe), with sound plugin Eternal SPU (since the default ones are crunchy)

Ah ok...hmm I wish there was an easier way to make music like that on my comp

There is also Ejay series, if you don't mind cracking it or buying it ($20 I think), but like MTVMG for the PC (which Cooliojazz have) or its update called Music 2002, it crashes a lot. There is also Reaper, that is free, but I had problems with it (no sound most of the time), and Modplug Tracker

I found/ installed reaper, but it days it's not free and you havea 10 evaluation time...
Well maybe I'll get into it and get it working. I'll hav to read up on how to use it though.

It's like mIRC and Winrar. After it expires, it will just bug you to buy it, but you can still use it afterward. That's unless they recently updated it to prevent this, though.

Cool I will check

I wish GXSCC was compatible with that MIDI format. GXSCC turns MIDI music in 8 bit format (NES style), kinda like the song in this vid:

It worked with every MIDI I tried but not your song uploaded the other day. I haven't tried your new ones, though
