Yeah... to be honest I'm not all that proud of the Pass That recordings. I guess I'll have to redo them eventually XD.

New Recording for everyone who want's to hear what my crappy guitar sounds like when I'm doing a jam session. I'm thinking about turning this into a chorale for two guitars, but I'll probably play it on one and just combine the two parts (dumb down one half of it, of course). Anyways, here's my jam session from a few minutes ago:

here

**NOTE: Didn't feel like borrowing a good guitar or sounds recording setup, so it sounds pretty horrible. Just close your eyes and plug you ears when you get to the accidental feedback parts :(

**EDIT**
Apparently, I should have listened to the final mp3...it seems to be playing too fast (though I wish I could play that fast). So just picture the same song, but a lower octave and about half as fast as it really is :)

One day I should try to get a guitar, it seems so much fun messing around ^^

Maybe I could do an insane remix of my hardcore song DSOTM.

Nice Jincs. I hope you can find some better quality recording equipement soon :)

Btw is there guitars/amp that can be plugged directly into the PC for maximum recording quality? Are they quite expensive?

You can just use the cord from the guitar + a connector from the guitar plug to audio.

Audacity can also be good, but I think you need to download an external plugin to create mp3s

I used Audacity. And yes, you have to download the lame_enc.dll so you can export mp3's :( But I'm gonna try out that MyMp3 and see if I like it->it looks pretty... :P

Audacity makes rather low quality recordings unfortunately.  I'm going to pick up an mbox 2 later this week, but they are quite expensive :( (wouldn't be able to afford it without gig money).

I have other software what I just haven't gotten around to learning how to use yet:

Cakewalk SONAR LE
Steinberg Cubase LE
Ableton Live Lite 4
Steinberg Wavelab Lite
IK Multimedia Amplitube LE & T-RackS EQ
SFX Machine LT
E-MU Proteus X LE

They came with my sound card, but I don't have a clue where to start with them (aside from Google, but I'm lazy). But I've heard that they're all supposed to be pretty good. Eventually I'll get around to figuring them out. But I think I should learn how to play guitar first :P

Not if you know how to set it up properly in Preferences (there's a tab where you can adjust the bitrate from 16 to 320 kbps for mp3). My entire music was recorded with Audacity

IMHO, it makes relatively low recordings (I do know how to set it up).

To be fair though, it's not Audacity that causes this but the hardware being used.

oh ok, i was wondering. Audacity isnt supposed to do low quality sound. Else it's your comp/hardware

Maybe the recording isnt very good though, but it's good for recording sound from inside the PC, such as Youtube video sound

The main issue is the conversion from analog to digital.  Without good equipment you lose a lot... which is why I'm getting the mbox 2 really.
