Title: Rhapsody in Blue
Post by: SirCmpwn on March 18, 2010, 08:19:31 pm
This is my favorite instrumental song ever:

Mostly cause of the epic clarinet solo at the beginning ;D

Unfortunately this style of music is not really the kind of music I listen to, altough I kinda liked the part from 4:00 to 4:20 ish. But I might be biased, because I have always been into stuff like power metal, para para, eurodance and UK hardcore music. I also liked that part at the beginning where it was like pitch bending

That pitch bendy thing is called a glissando and took me 2 and a half years to get right, and it still doesn't sound perfect when I do it.  Only trombones and open-key clarinets can do it properly over a long series of notes.

Yeah I assume it must be pretty hard. I personally never played that instrument because schools couldn't afford them and I wouldn,t be able to afford them, so no music class for me in later hi school years. I played some flute too, altough I personally mostly liked the piano or keyboard.

One of these days I'll prbly get one. Guitar sounds fun to play too, but I heard it was very hard.

Clarinet is nice because you can create your own unique sound very easily with it, and you can also change it up to whatever you like.  It is my favorite instrument!

...but Trumpets reign supreme! ;D  (Not jk, this is fact!)

This is a really neat piece!  My high school band did it the year I was in 8th grade, and I've heard stories of how fun it was to play. ;D
