I don't think we should judge artists songs based on how they are made, unless they are stolen like DJ Rankin. I don't really care how a song is made, personally. It's the result that matters to me. I like the sound they produce, even though it isn't really real guitar all the time but rather multiple recorded segments put together along with keyboard solos. The only thing that I don't like about it is that then their live performance is never really as great as how their songs sounds like.
I think hating a band just because their song is not played with real instruments is worse than hating a song because it was remixed.
Yeah I agree that if the band tries to pass themselves off as a better band than anyone else but in fact edit their songs, it doesn't look too good. Personally I like how their stuff sounds like, though. I like Sonata Artica more, though. But if someone loads Albeton Live and makes a metal song in it and it sounds cool, I'll love it, even if it was not made with real instruments.I don't think we should judge artists songs based on how they are made, unless they are stolen like DJ Rankin. well, you see, i wouldn't mind it if they actually did music that depicted their personal skill level. Im not saying their novice musicians or anything, but me, as part of a band and from many personal experiences; i hate it when a band edits or alters their music to such an extent that it appears to be amazing, so they get chosen to perform above the other band (aka my band :( lol) even though when they actually perform live, they cant play it nearly as well as the demo recording.. :/
I used to, and i guess i still do, like the music dragonforce makes. But if they need to edit their music that much, (its like you said DJ, they have multiple recordings, and they speed it up as well), then they lose my vote, just my personal opinion.
i wouldnt mind it if they stopped the god-like guitar solos, and just go for insanely inhuman ones.. :D
@tsukasa. I like j-pop too. its always got a like beat and rhythm to it, even though i don't understand what they are saying.. :P that godannar song is pretty cool
Stratovarius, mainly The Game Never EndsI like that song too, but it makes me lose everytime >:(
DJ-Omnimaga, Techno Strike.Glad you like it. Actually although it's mostly bass and is repetitive, I think it's one of my favorite in the stuff I made back in 2002. (My favorite being Neo Trance Remix)
type (how do you say "genre" ?)It's called genre.
Ah ok (°-.-)type (how do you say "genre" ?)It's called genre.
I don't think AFI's guitarist is that bad. He's not the greatest ever, but I've heard much much worse. It is not that he is bad, it is just that his guitar has got a sound like a back noise (what ?) and that he doesn't play the guitar like an electric one: with an acoustic guitar, you play with chords (and you do other things to make your chords more beautiful); with an electric one, you can do chords but not only.
Proof: I made a 100% in expert in Rockband 2, without looking at the screen.Wow, that's a good FC for not looking at the screen... I haven't FCed it yet myself, mainly because I don't play that song a lot. It's on my to-do FC list, along with 200 other songs :P
??? What is FC ?It means "Full Combo", which is when you hit 100% of the notes without overstrumming.
Currently listening to the new Dragonforce album.I didn't know it was out yet. I'll have to see if they have it at the mall today. :D I hope the new singer is pretty good. =)
Parts of it seems kinda different than the others (slower and reminding me of other power metal bands) but in general they stuck to their usual style.
Entire MegaMan Classic bgms. (All the way to MegaMan 10)Awesome! I should really try to find that. =)
Yes. You should definitely go for MM9 soundtrack for the sound is simply amazing.Currently listening to the new Dragonforce album.I didn't know it was out yet. I'll have to see if they have it at the mall today. :D I hope the new singer is pretty good. =)

@Shmibs: Also looks awesome! Gonna d/l it and check it later.

Fame Monster
Born this way
The Legend of Zelda:
25 year legend. This is a fan made compilation album featuring Zelda based remixes and music. I highly recommend it for Zelda fans and fans of video game music alike.
@Blakpillar:Nope I don't recognize any of em, but I know we have some metal we like in common. :)Ah. Get MM10 soundtrack. It's just epic. XD
@Yeong: I have MM9's and it's great. Mine is not 8bit style though, it's with real instruments. :o
*Edit* Also got the new DragonForce Album today. I haven't listened to the whole thing, but I do like the new singer. I'm glad they found someone that sounds good and unique instead of trying to find someone to replicate the old singer exactly.

@DJ_O, that sounds pretty good! I'm just still not too big on power metal ;) If you're into We Came As Romans (if you've never heard of them, they're metalcore with clean singing and they have synths in some of their songs), you might like Erra (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1-DyCT4j10&ob=av2e).You should start listening to Rage against the machine :D
@Balanced_Fury, I used to listen to SOAD and Slipknot nonstop lol. Slipknot was actually the band that got me into metal. My still best friend had me listen to "Wait and Bleed" in sixth grade (at that time I listened to Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace; bands like them) and I loved it. I still think their self-titled from 1999 is their best album.

I liked Ultra Beatdown too, but probably due to the video game feel it had. I like the new signer but still getting used to the difference. My favorite DF album was Sonic Firestorm I think, then in second place came the original version of Valley of the Damned (I'm probably one of the very few who prefer the non-remastered release to the 2010 re-release and I think it's due to the higher reverb it seemed to have and maybe because I'm used to listening to lower quality sound from '80s or early '90s power metal)@DJ_O, that sounds pretty good! Metal core can be really good. I especially like it when the bands have clean vocals as well. I'll have to check both of those bands out.
@BalancedFury: All of those are great bands. :)
@Other stuff: I'm really digging the new Dragonforce album, and I really love the new singer. In fact, I'd say I like him better than their old singer. However, I still think Ultra beatdown is my favorite album.
Yea, Ultra beatdown was pretty video game influenced, but I also liked that they slowed it down a bit on some tracks as opposed to being all speed all the time. Yngwie Malmsteems's Oddesy album is pretty good overall, best I've heard of him anyhow. The Trilogy album is pretty good as well, but IIRC the singer isn't as good on that album. Early Yngwie albums are also great because they feature Jens Johanssonon keyboard. Jens Johansson went on to join Stratovarious in 1995 and has been their keyboard player since. :DYeah my only gripe about Odyssey is that the sound recording seems kinda different than their 1985 and 88 album and with some headphones, you barely even hear the guitar riffs due to lack of treble and some drum sounds seems to drown out others. I had the same issue with the first Stratovarius album.
To be honest, I'M not a big fan of Nightcore, because all Nightcore does is taking eurodance songs then pitch them up to hardcore speed, with absolutely no other modification, then claim the songs as his own.
However doing this is kinda hard when your song remixes switches to a different music genre entirely. Eg, if I used Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give you Up (DJ Omnimaga Remix), nobody would know it's now UK hardcore instead of pop/disco, so I went with "Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up (DJ Omnimaga UK Hardcore Remix)" instead, which, however, is very long.
I guess that can work too. Do you put everything in the title or in the artist field too?
Talking about Dancemania, I used to have most of it on my computer in 2007, but then it crashed and recently I tried to find Dancemania Classic Speed again, to no avail. It seems those are rare nowadays D:
SA's new album has been out since fridayStrangely, when I went to HMV retail stores Friday and the one here today, they did not even have any copy and they said they didn't get any in stock. Did the release get delayed in Canada or something? D:

Rise Against isn't the same as Rise Against the MachineAh, always thought it was the same, but shortened. Damn similar names.
This pretty much answers the topic's question :P

Basically, I like to listen to the "top" musics out there, whatever the category, I'm just curious. I'm more into electro/dance/alternative, though.
I'm not really a fan of charts music either; I pretty much despise 90% of recent music :PDo you mean classic? I don't listen to old classical music much, but some is nice sometimes (I'm more into modern classical stuff like Yanni). Otherwise I tend to be more into stuff that sounds like video game music, but I am more into 16-bit-ish stuff than 8 bit and GXSCC.
I've been listening mainly compositions from the 1800's and songs from between 1970-1990. Been listening to Billy Joel, like Hellninjas :D
I really like romantic era music, like Chopin.I like Mendelssohn a lot, but for a time I was obsessed with this.
Yeah for some reasons lots of people say both are similar, which I don't ???. In fact my song is inspired from Instant Remedy - Flimbo's Quest.&playnext=1. O_O Reminded me of DJ_O's "Trancing through the 8 bit land". The underlying beat is kinda similar.
*Edit* Pretty awesome playlist by the way. A lot of 8bit stuff, 8 bit remakes, and original music made in Famitracker.
By the way, those who like punk rock but also like medieval stuff might also like celtic and irish punk. I just went to Dropkick Murphys and Irish Moutarde concerts and it was absolutely epic. The first band is from Boston and it was celtic punk but my favorite was the 2nd one, which does irish punk. I don't like both as much as punk rock but it still sometimes is very close, while having extra instruments from irish or celtic styles.I'd also recommend Ayreon in that list too, since he* often blends folk with both prog and rock/metal (but never all three af once, I've noticed).

I've been obsessively listening to Albion's album "Signal from the Sky".Yeah it's one of my favorite songs from him.
DJ, you were right. Enter the Labyrinth is so catchy. Especially that intro.
I also discovered that Albion is an ancient name for Britain.Yeah, I think he was actually inspired from some old MMORPG or something, though.
Since Albion is Greek and means something like "white" (also think of albino people) the name is thought to originate from the white cliffs of dover.
Just wanted to share that.
This one is a huge mess. I usually listen to it when I want to be isolated from the world for 10 minutes (like when my parents are eating).

The world exists? I thought we all lived in a calculator... O.O
Necroing doesn't exist on youtube :P But yeah, DJ's music is nice.I know, I love calling things necro and/or all the terms from forums. habit
Is that why my listening stats skyrocketed last week during about two days on Bandcamp? :PNope, I listen to it on Spotify. Is it possible that you add AKoO and Unfinished there please ?

-Tales of the Knight of the Moon: USD$14.95
-A Decade of Magic Hardcore: USD$224.96
-A Decade of Omni Dance: USD$36.27
Those are the sales and streaming revenues for the period ranging from June 2013 to May 2014 that I have gotten from each of my distributed albums on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, Zune and over 20 other stores. It costs $34.95 per album per year to keep them online. Given that my first metal album can't even get close to cover those costs, I doubt I'll put a second metal album on Spotify/iTunes/etc, let alone a single.
That said, since the happy hardcore album offsets any loss I get from other albums and that I also get other money from the free Bandcamp service, I guess I might be fine, but that's still over 10% of my sales that would go away in covering AKoO's distributing costs. Here are my June 2013-May 2014 sales on Bandcamp btw in Canadian dollars:
-TotKotM: CAD$9.90
-AKoO: CAD$55.44
-Unfinished: CAD$5.00
-A Decade of Magic Hardcore: CAD$15.92
-A Decade of Omni Dance: CAD$16.02
Basically, even with Bandcamp included, TotKotM isn't even making the cut. AKoO only sold so much because it just came out last Winter. Now it isn't selling so much anymore (the last Bandcamp copy sold was in March), but it has the highest listen rate overall.
All profits used to go to Omnimaga contest/hosting donations until about a year ago back when Omni hosting costed $85 per month, but nowadays it mainly covers a few metal concert ticket and video game purchases.
If AKoO ever makes it to iTunes, it will be combined with Unfinished and another single.
By the way I noticed the wip rol0 ost was free. Will it remain free once complete ?I don't know. Most likely since the game will most likely never be completed x.x
Oh right, this is the song that got me back into german music:Wait, so i got you into german music and thus you got me into wise guys? LOL
We repeat stuffs in here. Not a lot yet.ftfy
But this needs a repost.
Stuff that plays like 6 times per day on popular radio stations and that sounds like everything else (in this case, most 1999-2003 pop music). It can be excellent or horrible music, but you hear it so often you eventually get tired of it.Agree. I worked at a greenhouse and the radio was on all day. Man, I could burn these songs. But now that I listen to them in full quality and stuff, I realize they're actually quite good :D
Strange song, but I thought I sounded cool :DThis song ranked quite during summer 2013 in NL.
THe beat and sounds also reminds me of the remix of Moi Lolita by Angelica
This:that's awesome :D
Snippety-snipVocal does some pretty good stuff, yeah.
